Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail (BBIRT) route (mountain bike)

The Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail route will commence from the Builyan Community Centre in the Boyne Valley.
There will be:
➡️26km - The bus will take you from Builyan to Barrimoon and then you will enjoy a bike ride from Barrimoon to Builyan. Please choose your preferred departure time on the registration form. Places are limited and there are only 2 buses available: 8.00 am or 9.30 am.
➡️52km - Builyan to Barrimoon/return. Meet at 8.00 am at Builyan Community Centre and cycle with the group.
➡️22km - Choose when you start and finish. Drive to Golembil (in your own transport) and cycle 11km (easy uphill) to Barrimoon and 11km back to Golembil.

There are a few spots available on our May 25th Tunnels by Twilight Tour. We will ride and easy 11kms of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail while taking in breathtaking scenery and the 6 historic railway tunnels built 100 years ago. You can bring your own bike or hire one of our bikes. All options include transfers from Monto return, a grazing platter at the completion of the ride and a 2 course country style dinner at the Kalpowar Hall.

Our Morning Bridge Tour cycles 10kms of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail between Mundubbera & Gayndah. You will visit 4 of the iconic railway bridges and spend some time cycling along the Burnett River. We will pick you up from the Mundubbera Railway Station at 9am and return at approx 1pm in time to have lunch. We include all transfers, bikes and morning tea in the price.

When visiting Monto, make sure our Morning Tunnel Tour is on your list of things to do. We will ride the easiest 11kms of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail and visit the 6 historic railway tunnels and check out some amazing views while we are riding along. We depart Monto at 9am and return at approx 1pm in time for lunch at one of our cafes or hotels. We include your transfers, bike and morning tea in the price.

We had to post! This is Golembil about 45 minutes ago. What a magical start to the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail 4-day weekend. Ticket holders start arriving tomorrow - and we know we're all going to have a great weekend of riding, eating, learning and laughing - not to mention the spectacular scenery. If you're coming, we'll see you there - if not - it's time to start your planning for next year!

We took a quick ride from Barrimoon to Golembil - so much work has been done with new safety barriers, tables and chairs, the Barrimoon turntable exposed, and preparation for signage at the Barrimoon Siding. Great work Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail!!!

We are now taking bookings for our Morning Tunnel Tours.

Departing Monto at 9am and returning at approx 1pm - we will ride 11kms of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail on your choice of a standard bike ($110-) or an e-bike ($135-). You will get to experience 6 historic railway tunnels and some engineering feats of the 1920's with the amazing Golembil bridge.

We celebrate the end of your riding adventure with morning tea at the Golembil Siding.

Tours are available on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with a minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 4.
