It’s old school but there’s something soothing and nostalgic about a swing.

We love our swing on our front porch. I searched high and low for one that was the right size (and the right aesthetic - no plastic or glaring colours for the River Haus 😂). Of all places I found this one on Facebook Marketplace (a treasure trove for hunters and collectors).

We’ve seen so many memories and fun happen on this simple swing. I particularly love seeing adults have a turn. Not to mention it’s the perfect prop for the many photo shoots we host at our little cottage.

When I stop, put the phone down and have a swing, even for a few minutes, it reminds me to be in the present moment just like a child.

We’re midway through spring and the heady waft of frangipani and blossom is in the air.

The roses are blooming and the grape vine has burst into life.

Who remembers taking a bath in the sink? Our farmhouse sink is certainly big enough for it.

You can really feel spring nudging its way in now. Flowers are blooming and there’s a pep in the air.
