Do not swim, bathe, dive or kayak in the River Murray.
🚫 🏊♀️ 🛀 🤿 🚣
With the water levels dropping and being the middle of summer, there may be a temptation to get out on the River Murray.
The River Murray is still in flood with high flows and still contains debris, semi-submerged and floating objects making it very dangerous for those who enter the river.
Restrictions are in place that prohibit swimming, bathing, diving and kayaking in most parts of the River Murray, from Zone A (the South Australian border) to Zone F (Upriver side of the Wellington ferry crossing).
A person breaching the Emergency Management Act Direction may receive an expiation notice with a $1,094.00 fine.
For a full list of restrictions go to www.sa.gov.au/topics/emergencies-and-safety/river-murray-flood/restrictions
If you are undertaking permitted activities on the river, remember to wear a life jacket.
Please keep yourself and your family safe this summer by adhering to the restrictions along the River Murray.
