I may not be able to continue travelling so I’m putting it out there to all of you, especially those who are thinking of... or have said they would like to travel to India with me.

𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙈𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙞 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙆𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙊𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮.

As many of you know I love India and have travelled there often but this year has been difficult, and I was recently diagnosed with Lipoedema. After this trip I’m putting things on hold and not sure if I will ever go again. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙨!

On a tranquil boat ride across Periyar Lake, I had the privilege of watching a herd of elephants enjoying their natural habitat. Seeing them from this vantage point, amid the stillness of the lake and the whispers of the forest, is an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. I'm continually awed by Kerala's wild beauty.

India has many religious and spiritual places. This is Kalvari Mount, also known as Mount Calvary located in the town of Kalpetta, which is part of the Wayanad district in Kerala. Kalvari Mount holds religious importance for Christians as it is believed to be a replica of the Calvary hill in Jerusalem, where Jesus Christ was crucified.

The best way to understand tea? Go straight to its source. I have had the privilege of witnessing the journey from leaf to cup in the stunning tea gardens of Kerala. The dedication of the local tea growers, their commitment to sustainability, and the love they pour into each leaf are truly inspiring. If you love tea as much as I do, you owe it to yourself to experience this.

The frescoes in Mandawa are found on the walls and ceilings of many of the town's havelis, or traditional Rajasthani mansions. The havelis were built by wealthy merchants and landowners in the 18th and 19th centuries, and they feature a blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The frescoes depict a variety of subjects, including scenes from Hindu mythology, daily life in Rajasthan, and images of animals and birds. The paintings are done in bright colors and are often embellished with gold and silver leaf.

After sending blessings to our family and ancestors, Mick took this picture of Krishna (our priest) and I. In Pushkar we participated in the evening Aarti ceremony at the Pushkar Lake, which was a beautiful and spiritual experience that involved the offering of light and prayers.

I have never seen such intricate architecture as I did in Agra. The Taj Mahal is a masterpiece and I was left speechless by it’s beauty It is a must visit for anyone travelling to India.

Last time I was in Kerala, I saw the most amazing sunsets. I was on a houseboat on the backwaters. It was so relaxing and fun.

I never knew how much I loved bargaining until I came to India. Haggling with the street vendors for the best deal is like a sport here. I may not always win but I sure have fun trying.

India is a sensory overload in the best possible way. The colours, the smells, the sounds, everything is so intense and alive I’m already planning my next trip back. Join us in Kerala in Oct/Nov 2023 or Rajasthan Feb/Mar 2024. Can't wait!

India is a shopper’s paradise from colourful fabrics to intricate handicrafts there is something for everyone. I may have gone a little overboard with my shopping but who can blame me.

Looking back at my last trip to Kerala, cruising the backwaters on a houseboat was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my journey. Gliding through the peaceful waterways, surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle sounds of nature, was truly a serene experience.
