Have to love the Greek language!

Did you know that Greek is one of the oldest documented living languages in the indo-european language family.

Everyone visits Mykonos, Santorini, and maybe Paros, but Greece has over 220 inhabitable islands. So many islands....

Why not think about looking at somewhere different, like Kimolos, Astypalaia, Paxos or Folegandros.

Don’t let a mistake end in misfortune

The latest research from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Smartraveller and Insurance Council of Australia shows Australians’ common misunderstandings when it comes to travel insurance.

What you're covered for depends on the type of policy you get.

But you usually won't be covered if something goes wrong while you are:

Breaking the law. For example, not wearing a helmet on a moped.
Under the influence of drug or excessive alcohol during any activity
Policies vary on blood alcohol content – check your coverage in your policy and with your insurer.
Doing an excluded activity. For example, if you broke your leg when your cover expressly excludes skiing off-piste or trekking above a certain altitude.
In a 'do not travel' destination.

You never know....if you can't afford travel insurance you can't afford to travel!

INDIA review....

I’ll be honest. India is not going to be for everyone.

Trying to define this country is a challenge. It is chaos overload a thousand times.

India is possibly the most intense country I have visited so far, guess what…
I LOVED it!

This country has 1.5 billion people accommodating a diverse culture between language and religion across the country.

Full of amazing colours, naked feet, spicy food, religions and celebrations, overcrowded streets trains and buses, the markets selling whatever you need and haggling to get the best price, chai tea and kingfisher beer, temples and palaces, dogs everywhere, being amazed at how they can fit 10 people in a tuk tuk, eating with the right hand, early morning mantras, a colour palette of sarees with stunning embroidery, the garbage everywhere, washing the laundry and bathing in the Ganges next to the cremation ghats, decorated trucks, monkeys who steal your food and scare the life out of you, dodging traffic while trying not to get run over crossing the road, holding on for dear life in the car bike or tuk tuk because there are NO road rules, stunning scenery and sunsets, amazing ancient architecture, getting a bindi everywhere you go, tuk tuks filled with bananas, dodging cow dung, the Indian headshake with many meanings, smiles on the kids playing, smiles on the people when you say namaste, street dentists, street barbers, traffic jams, constant blaring of horns, the smells, cows dogs and goats with the occasional elephant on the road, the million bikes rickshaws cars and tuk tuks everywhere! Phewwww.....

There were so many highlights on this trip. March in India is a celebratory month. It's also the month of weddings. We were so lucky to witness wedding ceremonies, holi festivals, religious festivals, cultural festivals all with so much colour and amazing music. The joy on everyone's faces was simply a delight to see.

For me it was a truly immersive adventure in a country where this itinerary ticked all my bucket list items. But.... the people of India truly made this holiday memorable. The locals on the train offered us home cooked food and shared us their amazing wedding stories and photos, people wanting to have a photo with us and ask us about our life, to the people on the street who often helped us cross to the other side, this is what makes travel a truly amazing and memorable experience.

Mysore, Hampi and Goa....last days in India 🇮🇳 🙏

The last few days have gone quickly with days in the south area, with 3 overnight trains to finish off a 37 day adventure of India. What a ride!!!

A few days of exploring ancient ruins, palaces, stunning scenery, temples, beautiful people and beaches.

Mysore is an easygoing city that is very modern mixed with the old.

Hampi is a temple town situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River.

Port Goa is a fascinating region in India's south-west and a great place to end the trip – relaxing by the pool before heading home!
