One of the more bizarre travel experiences I've had over the years was watching the cheese rolling at Cooper's Hill in the UK - complete with the local rugby team standing at the bottom ready to catch participants with too much momentum, ambulance crews ready to ferry off those with broken bones and the winner carrying off his prized wheel of cheese in the baby capsule while his wife carried said bub in her arms 😂

This isn’t just a sport but a tradition with bruises.

Auf weidersehen today to the family of 4 I have heading off to Germany and Italy, starting with time in Frankfurt and driving through Bavaria before heading to Venice, Sorrento and Sicily - enjoy the much nicer weather than we're currently having here at home!

Thursdays are training days!

Today I'm getting an update on all things Italian rail - brands, booking classes, inclusions and destinations.

Today I'm farewelling 3 lots of travellers - the other half of last week's mega Europe trip family, a couple heading to Brisbane and staying at the beautiful Emporium South Bank (and getting our bonus Virtuoso inclusions of breakfast daily and dinner for 2 during their stay) and a family of 3 also heading off to Europe for almost a month of exploring.

My family of 3 are flying Asiana airlines, so they get to have a proper night's sleep in Seoul en route at the airline's expense before heading on to Europe, hopefully without too much jetjag! They they'll be exploring Paris, Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome and Pompeii, ticking off lots of historic bucket list items along the way :-)

As more and more countries move to electronic travel authorisations prior to travel, more and more third party sites pop up trying to charge you hundreds of dollars for ETAs that usually only cost $10 - $20.

I will always send customers links to the correct official site prior to travel but it pays to beware if you're simply Googling it!
