Why does the Nhill Book Fair exist?
We are 100% a fundraiser for the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre. $680 was raised yesterday.
But, old books are dusty, musty and heavy, and I wonder why we do it.
And then I saw this young man, tucked almost under a bookshelf, quietly reading and ignoring the chaos (the only word I can use to describe yesterday).
This. This is the bigger picture. This is why.

This Friday you can come and meet our friendly goats (and play alongside them in the paddock!), feed our alpacas and cows, check out our ducks and meet our new puppy! There’s craft in the barn and lots of things to explore and places to run around for the kids, and there’s seating areas, and an abundance of animals for the adults.

The area is fully fenced so guardians can sit and watch while enjoying complementary tea or coffee ❤️. Feel free to bring snacks or lunch and enjoy the atmosphere!

Spots are starting to fill up now, but there’s still enough tickets left for a few more families or groups to join the fun 😍.

Thank you so much for all the kind messages checking in to see if we are safe in the fires 🔥.

Little Marji and I evacuated last night and I was incredibly worried all night about all our precious animals, however all the wonderful people fighting the fires have kept them safe and the baby goats have been fed their milk this morning ❤️. Husband Stu has been fighting fires all night but is home with the animals now and Marji and I will return home once the roads are back open.

Again, thank you for all your kind messages and I’m looking forward to getting home to give all the animals a big cuddle ❤️.

Dimboola residents anxiously sit and wait tonight after being evacuated as CFA members battle to save their town.

For those that haven't left yet, they've been instructed to take shelter as leaving is no longer an option.

The latest emergency warning confirms Dimboola is being impacted.

It is believed the Little Desert Lodge has burnt, with only a little maintenance building saved, while early reports also indicate building fires in or around Dimboola.

Pictured is a photo taken by Dimboola's Melissa Howard, the sunset through the smoke cast earlier on the town.

Ms Howard, who evacuated with her family, cats and dogs, made the decision early to leave, seeking refuge in Jeparit.
