One of the little notes left by Two millennial besties (their words) Tani & Casey who came to visit last weekend. Absolute cuties whose enthusiasm about their stay and the farm was so lovely.
They’ve shared some photos which feature our dog Pip who pretty much pays everyone a visit these days. I think she thinks it’s her job and she takes it very seriously.

Pretty excited when we saw we’d made this list. What Urban List Brisbane don’t know is that we now have another possibly cuter outdoor wood fired bath at Cattle Camp cabin.
The colder the night the crisper the air the brighter the stars ~ best time for an outdoor bath. One of our fabulous guests that checked out today said he was in the bath until 11pm - “so warm, relaxing and just brilliant”

Echidnas are odd, even for cousins of the duckbilled platypus. They have no ni***es, no teeth, and a four-headed p***s. But the weirdness doesn't stop there……. spines like a porcupine, a beak like a bird, a pouch like a kangaroo, and lays eggs like a reptile. As odd as they may be they’re very cute, and easily photographed as they don’t move off too quickly.

Take a walk up the hill while staying at the cabins and not only is there a great view but you might spot one of these little characters like I did today.

Beautiful line from the poem “Desiderata”

I have this poem on the wall in the Boundary Rider Cabin. It was written in 1927 and the words are more valid than ever today. There are so many valuable messages in this poem for all stages of life. It speaks of an authentic lifestyle, which involves - loving oneself, being true and kind to oneself, valuing one's employment, being dignified and self-assertive, without being disrespectful to others.

A beautiful guest who checked out today left a message saying this is her favourite poem and how wonderful it was to walk in and see it. She knew this was going to be her happy place for the weekend. It made me revisit the words and love them even more.

The outdoor bath at the Boundary Rider cabin has been very popular so Peter onto a second one at the Cattle Camp cabin. Keen to see what he comes up with. Same same but different.

We love our animals and our pets are definitely part of our family, so we know and appreciate how important they are to our guests. Of course always a few rules but nothing you wouldn’t expect.
Our fences are not dog proof but we’ve never encountered a problem as the pooches just hang with their people, wander around for a look, enjoy a run, a laze a sniff & a chat with the cows.

While we were off for a week watching one of our beautiful girls get married, we were lucky enough to have our nephew, Khobi, and his partner Olivia stay and look after things. Liv got out and about and among the Cows and took some fabulous photos.

Late afternoon hay run. The winter frosts have taken their toll on the paddocks and regular supplemental hay is necessary for the cattle. Peter with multiple helpers.

When you visit you will most likely see Eliza riding one of her horses around the farm. She’s been busy this season with “barrel’ events around the district, so she’s often working her horses.
This horse is “Emily” who she saved from a terrible future. Emily has turned out to be a great little mare showing lots of promise.

A beautiful little heifer, Grace, has joined the Fold. She shares her birthday with my Olivia Grace. Proud dad Bruce, looks on. You might spot her when you visit. She certainly stands out

Our first cabin “Cattlecamp” continues to be popular in winter with a cosy fire and new (old) Chesterfield sofa. Beautiful little canvas artwork is an original by a talented Indigenous artist from Cunnamulla.
