When my husband and I purchased our holiday home, The Queenslander Noosa Heads in 2014 we could only afford to pay the mortgage with the support of rental income. Our dilemma was that we wanted to use the house for our own family holidays so we decided I would list it for short term holiday rental as I refused to pay the quoted real estate agents’ commission fees of up to 40%.
With no idea of what where to start or how much time I would invest over the coming months, I worked long and hard to make our property visible against our competitors, whilst building a strong client base. Within six months our home was booked for the foreseeable future at close to 100% occupancy. From here ellecor Holiday Home Management was born!
I was working for a real estate agency at the time and my property management knowledge proved vitally important when establishing my new business. This combined with many years’ experience as a workplace trainer in the travel industry and my double degree in Tourism/Business Management, I knew I had all the essential requirements to create and grow a successful business in holiday home management.
