Offering 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wood fire pizza oven, outdoor hot tub, this pet friendly retreat sleeps 10 guests. Country House Retreat is a contemporary rural homestead situated between Metung & Lakes Entrance, offering an "escape to the country" like no other in our region. Country House Retreat has been set up for couples, families or friends to come and enjoy relaxed country living, with co

astal beaches, tourist villages, historic rail trails and the magnificent Gippsland Lakes all in close proximity. Well behaved pets are also welcome! Features of Country House Retreat include a large entertainment deck with pizza oven, BBQ and outdoor dining. The outdoor heated spa provides year round relaxation and fun for young and old. Consisting of four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this home can comfortably accommodate 10 people. The main bedroom features a king coil queen bed, with a sublime, wheelchair accessible ensuite offering views of the native bushland behind the house, plus a walk in robe. Two bedrooms feature trilogy bunks (double bed with single up top), with the fourth bedroom offering a king coil king size bed or the option of two single beds. The kitchen is stocked to feel like a home away from home. Slow cook, blend, stir fry or sizzle your way to a fabulous meal with cooktop, oven and microwave. Plenty of plastic ware for the little people in your lives and dining outdoors, plus salt and pepper, cooking spray, foil, cling wrap supplied for your convenience. If you’re not on duty keep the chef company in the open plan kitchen/dining area as you admire views of the country side from each window. Coffee pod machine and arrival tea/coffee amenities are also provided. In the cooler months enjoy a cosy log fire (with all wood provided), or just switch on the split system for instant warmth and comfort. Stretch out on the plush leather sofa for some screen time in front of the 55 inch HD TV, or plug your favourite tunes into the portable speaker and dance like no-one’s watching (did we mention the privacy and seclusion?). Deluxe hotel quality linen and towels are provided for each guest. Laundry features LG washing machine plus all the things you’ll need to keep your house in order after a day at the beach! Pets that are clean and flea free are most welcome but must be past the chewing phase. Pets are permitted to enter the house and stay on non-carpeted areas. Pets are not permitted into the carpeted bedrooms for hygiene reasons. One large or two smaller dogs are permitted per stay. If your furry friend prefers the great outdoors there is a fully enclosed dog/cat run adjacent to the homestead with kennel for your pet to call home. The house yard is also securely fenced for children and pets to roam freely and safely around the lawn area. Owners Steve & Kim Kleinitz live adjacent to the property on a working farm. Their curious, friendly cows help to keep the grass down at Country House Retreat, and welcome new visitors.

If you're visiting (or lucky enough to live) in East Gippsland, be sure to stop by for some fabulous local food, wine and bevvies. What a great addition to the hospitality offering! This was our first visit since the new reno, and we were so impressed. The food was soooooooooo tasty, and the wine and drink menu offered sooooooooooo much choice. Whilst we couldn't go past the rose, we've promised ourselves a return visit for an Aperol Spritz soon (we heard the lady on the next table say it was the better than any she'd tasted in Italy!)

Nungurner foreshore is just 5 minutes drive from Country House (so walking, jogging or biking also good options!). Water temperature was around 16 degrees when we took an early morning dip this week (ideal for newbie dippers like me!)

School holidays are almost here! If you're in need of a quiet escape and some quality down time with your crew, our country escape has something to make everyone smile. Book your stay, and settle in for some blissful days in the country filled air. There's plenty to do in our region, but there's no pressure if you want to just hibernate for awhile and let the kids roam free.

Tripped the road fantastic to Bairnsdale last night to enjoy dinner with friends at @northerngroundfood. Oh. My. Heavens. It was the stuff of foodie dreams. The first few share plates disappeared before I remembered to whip my phone out. Thank you Rob for your exquisite food and the intimate new space you’ve created for locals and visitors to enjoy. Can’t wait to return!👏🏻😋🙌🤗
