Home sweet home … well almost! On the train to Lithgow and then the bus to Orange.

Trip of a lifetime! I’m now leaving tour guide life to become a wildlife photographer. 😂 This first elephant photo is my favourite!

So grateful to the wonderful people I met on this trip and shared the memories with.

My life looks like a dream and yes it is! I am truely lucky to be able to work anywhere. 💙

At Phuket airport I met a lady who was celebrating her 80th birthday with a solo trip. She has 7 children and she told them she was doing this for herself! Love her style!

In 1977, an Indian man embarked on an extraordinary journey, cycling from India to Sweden to reunite with a woman he met during her vacation in India.

They met when the girl drove to India to get her portrait done by him. She asked him to come to Sweden with her but he said he’d come later on his own. He couldn’t afford a plane ticket so he sold much of what he had, bought a bike, and set off.

He went through Afghanistan, Iran, and finally Türkiye. He made it through by selling portraits along the way, as well as through donations. At Türkiye, he bought a train ticket to somewhere in Europe, where he then biked to Gothenburg, Sweden

A highlight of my African trip was a visit to meet my sponsor student at School of St Jude.

St Jude’s was started by an Aussie lady and I love everything it represents.

I have sponsored Zahiya since 2015. I had a guided tour of the school and visited her family home. 🫶🏾

As you can imagine, it was a very emotional day, especially when her father thanked me for my support and gifted me a chicken! (Luckily the school gave me the heads up and told me to bring it to the school and they will donate to a nearby student). 🐓😮

We love visiting artisans and learning about the handmade process. Occasionally I include a workshop but only if it’s 100% worth your time AND the item is finished and useful.

I don’t want to waste your time with half finished projects. Let’s face it, we have enough of those already! 😂

By visiting artisans and purchasing directly, you are helping ensure traditional crafts continue. In many instances, younger generations are not keen on such labour intensive work.
