Many have driven over the iconic McKillops Bridge, but how many can say they’ve ridden across it? 🚴‍♀️ As part of the 5-day Snowy Wilderness Adventure Ride offered by Snowy River Cycling, I had the unforgettable experience of pedalling across this engineering marvel.

🌟 Did You Know?
• Built in 1935, McKillops Bridge is a 255-meter-long masterpiece, featuring welded-steel trusses on reinforced concrete piers supporting its timber structure.
• The first bridge was tragically washed away by a flood just one week before its official opening—making this rebuild an extraordinary feat of resilience and engineering!

Riding over the bridge offers not just a thrilling experience but also breathtaking views of the Snowy River and its rugged wilderness.

🏕️✨ Explore History at the Glen Arte Timber Fallers Hut ✨🏕️

Rebuilt after the devastating January 2020 fires, this replica preserves the story of the Glen Arte Timber Fallers Hut, the last remaining structure from the Smith Brothers Logging Camp at Jungle Hill. Originally built in the 1950s, the hut served as a base for timber workers, saving them the long trip back to Orbost each day.

🔸 Fun Fact: The hut was built on skids so it could be dragged between logging coupes by dozer drivers—a true testament to ingenuity!

Today, it's part of the Back Roads Tours maps, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's history. It’s a side trip on the Murrungowar Errinundra Loop, making it a must-visit for those exploring the area.
