One of Pemberton’s iconic climbing trees has reopened after the completion of works.

It provides a magical view of the Karri forest. There are walking trails, picnic shelters and gas barbecues and in Spring a myriad of colour as the wildflowers come out.
The site is wonderful all year round, in the wet or full sunshine.

Let’s ride

Thankyou all for your patience regarding our upcoming event in Pemberton on the 6th and 7th May. It is with great pleasure we can announce on behalf of the Pemberton Visitor Centre that their insurance has been re-established meaning it's business as usual for us and the event will proceed (pending normal event applications - yew!)

We have been proud to host events in Pemberton every year since 2014 and now in our 10th year, the stars have aligned and we look forward to celebrating our 10th Pemberton WA Gravity Enduro Event!

Strangely enough, the event in Pemberton on the 6th and 7th May is actually our 67th WA Gravity Enduro round - maybe it was meant to be?!

For every event, we seek approvals from relevant authorities and have our events sanctioned through Auscycling (formerly MTBA). Auscycling provide the licensing required for our events to proceed with the necessary insurances in place. Undertaking an event without the correct licenses in place would expose riders, organisers and land managers and potentially our families so its critical we do not manufacture an outcome which could put us all at unnecessary risk.

BUT! Now that we have been advised the Pemberton Visitor Centre has reinstated its insurance, this means its business-as-usual for us! Auscycling can now assess our existing event application as a normal process.

We cannot wait to sink some tyres into loamy goodness very soon!

Thank you to the Pemberton Visitor Centre, Pemberton Cycling Association, Shire of Manjimup, Westcycle, Auscycling, Sean Tysoe, Mark Hudson and everyone (and there is a lot of you!) who have been showing support through Facebook and behind the scenes all working together to ensure the best outcome possible - our Community rocks! 🤩

So on that note...LET'S GO ENDURO PEMBERTON!!!

A must do in Pemberton

A must do in Pemberton

Gloucester Tree, located in Gloucester National Park in Pemberton, is currently closed to the public while it is being repegged.

While the tree is still structurally sound, an engineer’s assessment of the tree determined that the climbing pegs needed to be replaced. The repegging work is being completed by specialist arboriculturist and will include two new aluminium ladder sections and a small new platform in the upper portion of the tree linking to the main lookout cabin.

Works are progressing well and are expected to be completed by the Labour Day long weekend in March (4 March - 6 March).

While Gloucester Tree is currently closed, the recreation site walking trails including the Munda Biddi Trail and Bibbulmun Track that pass through the site remain open.

The public are reminded that the Bicentennial Tree in Warren National Park is still open and available for climbing in the meantime.

Stay up-to-date on closures for Gloucester Tree and all other DBCA managed parks and sites on the Park Alerts website https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au/
