Another reason why is the best season on it’s the echidna breeding season and if you’re lucky you may get to spot an Echidna train, when the female come into oestrus the males will pick up her scent and she can have many males following her for up to 50 days, when she’s ready to mate, and after some pushing and shoving, one lucky male gets to mate with her, they then go about their solitary lives.
