Any foreign national wishing to travel to, enter and remain in Australia will need a . The Department of Home Affairs have an application portal in their website for all different classes of visas.

The question is: are you going to apply on your own, or do you need assistance?

There is no immediate impediment to your own application as every step is spelt out and all the supporting documents listed as well. Immigration assistance could be sought at any later stage in your visa application, as long as it has not been 'finally determined' by Immigration. [which is the last stage that a migration agent can fight for their client at the executive level].

That said, engaging a registered migration agent [a competent and responsible one] to act on your behalf can save you time and, possibly, monetary resource from the beginning of your application for a visa or review of an unfavourable visa decision. Most importantly, a registered migration agent should be able to advise you straightforward as to your prospect of success once you enter into a service or client agreement. Hence, you should not risk submitting an application which you have no confidence or know it has no merit, especially when you are in Australia.

Exemption From the MLTSSL in Subclass 186 Visa Application!!!

From 01 July 2022, holder of a TSS 482 visa in the Short-term (ST) stream employed in Australia by an Standard Business Sponsor may become eligible for a Employer Nomination (Permanent) subclass 186 visa in the TRT stream, despite working in a Short-term Skilled Occupation [e.g., Cafe/Restaurant Manager, or Pastrycook, or Cook, or Hairdresser, etc]

That being said, a TSS visa in the ST stream is usually granted for two years and re-applying for a second one in the same stream will be subject to the GTE criterion.
