Today marks a significant milestone for Tom Fernandes.

A pioneer of luxury safaris in East Africa, Tom celebrates his 90th birthday today.

Tom founded Wildlife Safari Kenya fifty years ago and over his decades in the tourism industry has also devoted much time and effort to the East African Wildlife Society (EAWS) and Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) including terms as vice chairman and chairman, of each organisation.

Wildlife Safari remains totally family owned and is now managed by Trevor Fernandes who oversees the business in Kenya & Australia.

On behalf of the entire Wildlife Safari team, past and present, we wish Tom a very happy birthday and thank him for his dedication and commitment to tourism and acknowledged by many as an icon of the industry.

Looking back on an incredible week of We Are Africa.

So grateful to be in Cape Town, walk the orange carpet to connect with our exceptional supplier partners, seek new opportunities and hang out with our inspiring industry who are all so very passionate about this wonderful continent.

Thanks to the impressive WAA team for organising a brilliant event. It was educational, beneficial, loads of fun and seriously hectic.

🇧🇼 On location in Botswana.

Wildlife Safari journeyed to Botswana to explore the remarkable camps.

First stay in the perfectly situated Camp Okavango. Referred by all as Camp O guests get to enjoy water based activities and escorted walks on the marsh islands in the iconic delta. It’s a very spot spot and one of our favourites.

Dine at one of the prettiest restaurants on the island to enjoy contemporary Indian flavours at Amari by Vineet with its superb a la carte menu or let the team design an exceptional tasting menu. While recently checking out Amari by Vineet and admiring the amazing interiors by Jean-Marc Tang we chanced upon Daphne the delightful and so very talented artist who has been meticulously hand painting in a palette of coral, pinks and earthy hues the restaurant's exquisite murals.
