About Me:
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being an “Air Hostess” travelling to all those amazing places in the world! I never did make it into the not-so-glamorous world of cabin crew. Instead, I’ve enjoyed working in several different fields of the travel industry from airlines to wholesalers and retailers too. My career, now spanning 25 years, including time out to have children, h
as provided me with a vast range of skills and experience to cope with the ever-changing needs of travellers and the travel industry alike. My first role in the mid 80’s was a Receptionist/Administration Assistant with a Sydney Wholesaler. I remember using telex machines to transmit booking requests to hoteliers in remote parts of Asia & the Maldives to hand-writing hundreds of airline tickets for flights through the Grand Canyon and spraining my arm when I tripped and fell over lugging that heavy franking machine to the GPO to be reloaded with credit – how things have changed! Filled with enthusiasm & a strong desire to succeed, I climbed the corporate ladder from a very early age. Holidays & then Qantas Holidays during the 90’s taught me new skills in team building & problem solving through several career development courses offered in-house. Other personal development courses include Customer Relationship Training, Marketing & Promotions skills & Creative Selling through Profitable Partnerships. Industry development courses include worldwide airline reservations systems such as Amadeus,Galileo & Sabre, Calypsonet wholesale & retail system and several Microsoft office applications. Expert knowledge & travel experience has always been high on my agenda. I have been lucky enough to travel extensively, not only by escorting travel agents on many educational in Australia & overseas, but by enjoying many personal leave trips too. In the early 90’s, my husband (then fiancé) & I decided to go travelling for a year before settling down. We started with a month in Egypt followed by 6 weeks in the Greek Islands & Turkey before lobbing into London to take on a live-in bar couple role. Another 6 weeks later, we fly to Germany, bought an old car & camped around Europe for the summer of 1990. What a wonderful 5 months that was......new experiences every day, no fixed plans or time frame, the freedom to do as much or as little as we liked only restricted by a $20 a day budget! One year away turned into 2.......we returned to London to work in our respective careers to replenish the funds.....I worked for 9 months in the UK for Jetlife Holidays selling trips to the Caribbean. Our journey back to Oz included a month in India, Thailand & Bali before getting married just 10 days after our arrival back home! Returning to the workforce, I progressed into management roles including Sales & Marketing with Creative Holidays & more recently with Tourism Tasmania. Building relationships through trust & standing by my personal motto “Do As You Say” has given me a great sense of personal achievement throughout my career. It’s amazing how independent we have all become with the sophisticated technology of today, but nothing beats first-hand knowledge & years of experience offering peace of mind & a promise to be there for you – before, during & after your trip!
