DRIVERLESS BUS

In an Australian first the RAC has announced they will trial a driverless, electric bus in Perth. The 15 seat bus has a max speed of 45km/h and will be fitted-out with the latest multi-sensor technology. More on this story in 9NEWS LIVE at 5 and 6PM.

We continue to urge road users to avoid all non-essential travel if planning to travel south of Mandurah towards Bunbury in the state’s South West due to an ongoing bushfire.

The following roads remain closed with no time-frame for re-opening:

Forrest Highway (both directions) from Pinjarra Road to Myalup Beach Road

Old Coast Road (both directions) from Old Bunbury Road to Forrest Highway

South Western Highway (both directions) from Greenlands Road to Uduc Road

If travel is necessary, please follow signed detours via Albany Highway and Coalfields Highway and ensure your petrol tank is full before departure.

Due to roadworks already in progress on the detour routes, please expect delays and allow extra travel time.
