The Zealous Basketball Program focuses on developing participants in two key life aspects:
- Skills: through high intensity weekly training sessions, camps, elite competitions and international tours
- Personal well-being: through on court and off court mentoring focusing on mental health, building self-esteem, handling motivation, stress factors and anxiety. The Zealous Basketball Program provid

- Improve individual basketball skills
- Improve decision making in game situations
- Enhance off court player well-being
- Provide opportunities for coaches to collaborate with one another both on and off the court
- Provide opportunities both nationally and internationally for players and coaches to extend their basketball experiences
- Provide clubs with a holistic development program
WEEKLY SKILLS PROGRAM: ELITE & DEVELOPMENT
Elite
- Run inline with the school terms (8-10 weeks)
- Sessions will be 90mins maximum; includes a conditioning/warm up, skill development, game play
- Targeted athletes: Males and females aged 15-18, Identified by the club as potential SBL players
- Coaches will be supplied by Zealous Basketball
- Sessions will be open to WABL coaches to attend to observe and learn
- Eligible to be involved in Zealous Tours
- For each session athletes will set a goal or have a quote to work with, complete the weekly life journal (which will be monitored on a fortnightly basis) and bring an attitude that exemplifies the highest of standards
Development
- Run inline with the school terms (8-10 weeks)
- Sessions will be 60mins maximum: includes a conditioning/warm up, and a skill development session
- Course curriculum is determined by Zealous Basketball in communication with Club development officer
- Maximum of 20 players with minimum of 3 coaches
- Targeted athletes – all Under 12-14 WABL players
- Coaches from WABL are encouraged to participate and be involved on court through the coaching program. PLAYER WELL-BEING PROGRAM
In each term two player well-being sessions will be arranged to promote the personal development aspect of the program. These sessions will run for 30min either before or after weekly training sessions and parents will be invited to attend. Topics to be presented on:

- Academic performance
- Sports Nutrition – pre and post game
- Strength and Conditioning
- Drug and Alcohol Use
- Violence in our community
- Being part of a community
