he following countries have reached their annual visa cap and are likely closed until 1st July:

🌎 Brazil: 500 visas
🌎 Ecuador: 100 visas
🌎 Mongolia: 100 visas
🌎 Portugal: 500 visas
🌎 Spain: 3,400 visas
🌎 Switzerland: 200 visas

⚠️ Malaysia: Temporarily paused with 1,100 visas allocated.

From December 7, 2024 - The Australian government has announced major updates to the Subclass 482 Visa, now rebranded as Skills In Demand (SID).

Here’s what’s new:

💼 Three New Streams:
1️⃣ Core Skills Pathway: For jobs on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) – Min salary AUD $73,150.
2️⃣ Specialist Pathway: Open to most roles – Min salary AUD $135,000/year.
3️⃣ Labor Agreement Stream: Keeps current agreements active.

🎓 English Requirements: IELTS 5 or PTE 36 in all bands – standardized across all occupations.

⌛ Work Experience: 12 months of relevant experience required at the time of application.

🌟 Easier Employer Changes: Switch jobs without restarting your 2-year PR clock – good news for existing TSS visa holders too!

💰 Costs:

Application: AUD $3,115
STAC Fee: AUD $700 (for onshore applicants).

Here's more details about the Subclass SID Visa after the big change on the 07/12/2024

Key Benefits:
- Work in Australia for up to 4 years (or 5 years if you're a Hong Kong passport holder) with an approved sponsor.
- Travel freely in and out of Australia while your visa remains valid.
- Apply for permanent residency later via the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186).
- Bring eligible family members as secondary applicants.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Subclass SID Visa, you must meet the following criteria:

-Be nominated by an approved sponsor in a role listed on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
-Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation (or a closely related field).
-Hold adequate health insurance and meet the health and character requirements.
-Possess the required English proficiency (unless exempt).

Visa Obligations:
-Start working within 90 days of your visa grant or arrival in Australia.
-Comply with all visa conditions, including working only for your nominating employer or associated entity.

If your TSS nomination was lodged before this date, it will still be processed under the old rules. But if you haven’t lodged your visa application yet, an approved TSS nomination will now be treated as a SID nomination.
