Welcome! Park Ultrasound is a specialised obstetric and gynaecological (“O&G”) ultrasound practice, established in 1994 by Dr Bev Hewitt, who combines a clinical specialist O&G background with extensive ultrasound qualifications and experience. Our rooms at 12 Connolly St, are on the West Leederville / Wembley border, corner Connolly and Cambridge Sts, opposite SJOG Hospital Subiaco. We offer preg

nancy and pelvic (gynaecology) ultrasound, including guidance on the new Non-Invasive Prenatal Tests (NIPT). This is a rapidly changing area of technology which allows us to reduce the number of invasive tests recommended. In this practice we assess by live scanning information which gives more information than still pictures. We work as a team where the scan is performed by a dedicated sonographer or doctor. Particular features of the scan including any difficult or borderline findings are covered with or by the doctor. This team approach allows us, and you, more time for the detail of each ultrasound. Prenatal diagnostic tests are performed by the doctor.

When the body temperature is 38 degrees or higher, we are having a fever. This is one way how our body fights infection and has usually nothing to do with the illness that is triggering the fever in the first place.

Although usually mild, fevers are quite common in young children. They are mostly caused by viruses such as colds, and common infectious diseases of childhood. Alternatively fevers can also be triggered by bacterial infections that require treatment with antibiotics.

More information on fevers in children can be found via the link below.

Breastfeeding can have its ups and downs, especially in the beginning If you are struggling with breastfeeding, there is a lot of support available and most difficulties can be overcome. Wondering where to reach out?

Breastfeeding advice and support can be sought from a range of health professionals, including baby health nurses, midwives, lactation consultants, Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) counsellors and doctors. In addition, many mothers find support and encouragement in mother-to-mother support groups online and in person.

Breastfeeding can be a special time for both mum and baby. Breast milk meets all your baby's nutritional needs from birth to 6 months.

Attention all QDOS Ultrasound Patients.

As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic we are asking all patients that experience flu like symptoms or have recently travelled oversears to contact us prior to their scheduled appointment.

To minimise the risk of transmitting Coronavirus between patients as well as our team, please be aware of these prevention measures:

- We aim to limit the amount of people waiting in our waiting room at any given time. If you wish to wait outside, we are happy to notify you once the doctor is ready to see you.

- Currently, we are restricting the amount of people allowed into the ultrasound room to 2 per appointment (including patient). It is not recommended that you bring your children for the scan.

- Upon entering our clinic, please use the hand sanitizer provided at the front desk.

- If you appear unwell or at risk, we may need to reschedule your appointment.

- If you are a new patient or your details have changed, please complete the patient information form on our website. This will avoid unneccesary handling of documents by both parties.

If you have any further questions please contact us under 9481 4080.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and assistance during this time.

Did you know that we here at QDOS Ultrasound offer ‘Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis’ Scans? ‘DIE Scans’ are a more extensive examination for endometriosis than a normal pelvic ultrasound. It allows us to provide as much information as possible prior to consideration for any further treatment.

Due to increased complexity of the ultrasound, the preparation slightly differs to other gynaecology scans. But don’t worry we will give you all instructions while booking your appointment.

A pregnancy that grows outside the uterus is called an ectopic pregnancy. In an ectopic pregnancy, the fertilized egg attaches somewhere else in a female’s abdomen, usually the fallopian tubes or the o***y. Although it is rare (About 2 out of 100 pregnancies are affected) it is serious and requires urgent medical attention.
