It's hard to believe we are in summer already. The vineyards are full of colour again and the grapes are getting close to harvest (the first grapes are typically harvested in January depending on the year and conditions that affect the vintage). Thank you to this wonderful group for an amazing day out and taking a moment to appreciate the 101 year old vines that they stand beneath, which are some of the oldest and largest vines in the Swan Valley. There is a lot of great history, tradition and wine in the Swan Valley and it is always a pleasure to showcase the best wineries the region has to offer.

My favourite time of year to be taking my guests on wine tours to and when the white grapes are ready for harvest and the red grapes are just starting to change colour. There is so much colour and life in the vineyard which makes for some great photos as well as a chance to sample the grapes off the vine (don't worry we ask the winemakers permission first!) as the sugar levels rise and turn from sour to sweet 🍇

The winemakers are waiting for the optimum time when the sugar and acid levels are just right to harvest. As the sugar levels go up the acid levels drop so it is all about finding the optimum time.

It is looking like it is going to be a great 2023 vintage with no rain during summer (thats a good thing to avoid disease) and an overall mild summer with no days over 40 degrees celcius which means consistent ripening throughout the season. Compared to last year when we had our hottest year on record here in Perth ☀️🥵 the 2023 vintage will be one to look out for in the years to come! 🍷🥂

A massive congratulations to the entire family on celebrating their centenary year as we finish off 2022. 3 generations and 100 years of winemaking in the family is an incredible milestone. Every single wine they produce displays refinement and finesse like nothing else and it is always a privilege to be able to bring my guests to visit your Cellar Door. This special release centenary edition 2022 Chenin Blanc is hand harvested (like all of their wines) from 60 year old vines and is just another fine example of the quality wines they produce across the board.

Congratulations again the Kosovich family on your milestone year, happy New Year's to you all and look forward to seeing you in 2023 🥳🥂

After a fantastic tasting experience it would be remiss of us to not stop to smell the roses and take few photos in the gourgeous surrounds at . One of the most picturesque wineries in the Swan Valley and with a wonderful Cellar Door team and outstanding and extensive range of boutique wines to sample it is an absolute must visit for anyone planning a visit to the region.

It was great to be out of the road doing what I love giving tours again after taking some time out to spend some time welcoming our daughter into the world. I didn't know how I would go being away from our little girl for the first time but honestly couldn't have spent it amongst better company. Thank you Nicole for coming on tour with me again and for organising a tour with friends "just because". I could think of no better excuse. Life gets in the way and we all find it hard to find to catch up with friends (even life long friends) and we created a private tour itinerary to ensure Nicole and the entire crew had an absolute blast with fun and laughter from start to finish 😆 Thanks again Nicole for making my first tour back such a memorable experience and hope to have the chance to take you on tour again soon 🙂🍷🍾🥂
