Update on TSS experience requirement change & insight on new FY allocations
2024/25 Migration Planning level
Definitely the focus is on the employer sponsored visa.
From 23 November 2024, TSS visa will require 1 year experience in the relevant field (instead of 2 years currently). We must wait to see the detailed legislation for more information but this is definitely some good news.
State sponsored visa level stays the same but allocation for each State is yet to be released.

Some bad news…
From 1 July 2024, age limit for all graduate visa steam will reduce to age of 35 (excluding UK,HK nationals).
Graduate work stream (VET course) - 18 months
Bachelor/Masters degree - 2 years
Masters by research - 3 years
Regional study extension of 1 year will stay.
It will not affect the applications that are already lodged, and applications lodged prior to 1 July 2024.

New increased English proficiency requirement effective from 23 March 2024.
IELTS is now accepting one skill retake for certain visas, but it's not applicable to the Graduate visa.

Update on new labour agreement TSS to PR pathway for carer sector including aged carer, disability carer and nursing assistants.
Cert III qualification can be done in just 12-16 weeks and that's enough for the TSS visa.

New TSMIT to $70,000 from 1 July 2023
TSS short-term occupation can go through 186 TRT option from end of 2023.
As for the current 491 visa holders, we're still in the process of confirming if the new TSMIT would apply.

Training visa (subclass 407) - Childcare Centre Manager approved
Prior to Covid visa (sc408) being available to everyone, the training visa was the alternate options for those studied childcare wanting to meet the requirements for s/c 494 for PR.
Once Covid visa option is no longer available, this could still be your best shot.
