Why I know I can make a difference as your Lord Mayor
I have lived and worked in Perth all my life. I am passionate about this place, and I believe it’s time to bring our city back to life.
First, we need to drive positive, sustainable change in a number of key areas – we need to get the fundamentals sorted including homelessness, safety and cleanliness of our CBD, support for our retailers, and good governance.
Secondly, we need to establish our own identity - a point of difference - and build-on and enhance the fantastic assets we already have in Perth. We need a cohesive and united vision to make Perth a truly world class city, and we need to take the necessary steps to elevate Perth to its rightful place at the top of the list of the world’s most liveable cities.
And thirdly, let’s #celebrateperth! I would be focussed on bringing everyone together with the common vision of celebrating our city and encouraging our residents and business leaders to talk positively about this great place. We need to work together to make Perth the place where people want to live, work, visit, study and do business - growing our residential population, business opportunities, and local and inbound tourism.
