A huge thank you to our volunteers at Steamtown, they do an AMAZING job keeping the Roundhouse clean and safe and also all the areas around the visitor centre so clean and tidy. Not a day goes by where a visitor doesn't comments on our cleanliness. We'll done!

Thank you to the model T Ford car club of Australia, they have donated $120 to steamtown for the restoration of 24 Roundhouse windows that fell out during a storm a while ago. This car is the original car to join the club in 1964 and has been involved in every trip every year

On Monday the 24th of October, Day Tours will be unavailable at Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre, due to filming.

The Visitor Information Centre will still open as normal (9am-5pm), The Diesel Shed will be available for self-guided tours, and the Sound and Light show will still be available.

Book in your spot!

The Silver to Sea Way together with the District Council of Peterborough and National Trust invites you to a FREE Open Day at the Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre. The restoration works are now complete, and we want you to come and see the finished product!

Special restoration tours will operate at 11am and 2pm with a sausage sizzle lunch by the Rotary Club of Peterborough from 12pm. Bookings are essential, so please contact the Visitor Information centre on 08 8651 3355 or email [email protected] to lock in your spot!

The Federation Quilt is now accessible again for viewing! Located in the Federation Foyer of the Town Hall, this 2 x 3 metre wall hanging is absolutely mesmerising. With over 2000 hours of labor, it’s definitely worth a look!

Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre's cat Cinders has been taken care of by Abbie while she was away from all the Reno's at steamtown, now she has been desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped, will be taken care of by staff while she recuperates and will be back to work soon to great our visitors once again
