How does that song go? 7 swans are swimming, 12….. white-faced herons are perching!! There’s a Christmas vibe happening in This morning’s walk was overcast and very still with an abundance of birdlife. The 12 white-faced herons frequently sit on that wire next door to our Retreat but I can’t get too close to them as they fly away. Brosche’s Shed, a local land mark, is just a shell now. What next for the site?

Ive just signed an online petition to have a toilet installed at the Long Jetty at Port Welshpool. As the jetty is 800 metres long it is important to have facilities for visitors and fishers. Here is the petition below. Feel free to sign it or pass it on.

There is plenty of room with privacy, peace and quiet on half an acre . The large front deck with outdoor furniture is the perfect place to spot birdlife and wildlife while taking in the natural water views to . I missed the this morning but I’m still feeling happy! Just baked for the first time in 6 weeks at Visit Port Albert. I’m thrilled with the result. A loaf for us and one for….. it’s a surprise! I’ll be delivering it later this morning.

First time I’ve seen a Pacific Gull on the lawn outside of . The wind and rain may have caused him to shelter a while. He stayed quite some time then flew off. (He could have been a she but I wasn’t looking). 🤗. We are fortunate to see lots of different native birds and wildlife. .middle.of.everywhere

We visited the town of , today and think there could be a connection with the paddle steamer Clonmel which ran aground in 1841 on its journey from Sydney to Melbourne which lead to the founding of our town of . Note Charla is wearing her Port Albert cap (Chris can’t find his 🙄). He may have left it in Ireland somewhere. No problem, we will replace it with a new one on our return!

Our Story

Port Albert Waterview Retreat is a fully self-contained 3 bedroom holiday house for holiday rental overlooking Wilsons Promontory. Sleeps up to 6. It was recently closed for nearly 2 years for major renovations and we are now very happy and proud to welcome guests from all over Australia and from overseas and encourage them to explore the region which has so many natural attractions.

Situated on half an acre of lawn and garden, the Retreat is ideal for families, couples, friends fishing enthusiasts and its a photographer’s dream. There is plenty of room for on-site parking of boats and cars with a 2 car carport as well. Set in a quiet and peaceful location yet the Retreat is within walking distance to all amenities in Port Albert.

We are open for business and happy to take your forward bookings or any inquiries.
