So happy to finally see the Aurora Australis with my own eyes from the front of our deck looking up the road and also out towards Wilson’s Prom. My photos capture the start of it whereas Debra Eldridge photos are much more vivid and clear taken later on. (See bottom right photo). How wonderful to see it happening here.

Besides Paddington Bear, who likes orange marmalade? Our guests love it. I have a secret ingredient which I will share with you - a dash of Cointreau. The alcohol cooks out but the flavour remains.

We’re excited to share that Star of the South has secured one of the first Australian feasibility licences for offshore wind – with a second licence awarded to our new Gippsland project Kut-Wut Brataualung.

▪️Star of the South is an up to 2.2 GW project proposed 10 km off the coast between Woodside Beach and Port Albert.

▪️Kut-Wut Brataualung is an up to 2.2 GW project proposed 45 km off the coast.

Built to their full potential, these two projects would:

💡 Power more than 2.4 million homes

📈 Inject $14 billion into the Australian economy, including up to $7 billion in the Gippsland region

👷‍♀️ Create up to 12,000 jobs over the life of the projects, including hundreds of ongoing long-term Gippsland-based jobs during 30 years of operations.

Both projects are being progressed by Southerly Ten – a specialist offshore wind energy developer for Australia and New Zealand, unveiled today by the team behind Star of the South and leading global fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

We’re excited to continue working with Traditional Custodians, communities and our partners to develop responsible projects that are right for the region.

Yay! The wicking beds are now done and ready for planting vegetables. More work to be done on the paths etc over time. I found a few random herbs seedlings and silverbeet that I’ve planted. Need to plant more seedlings soon. Any suggestions?

I would love to win this fabulous prize and I would share it at our Retreat for our guests to enjoy.

A must-see blockbuster exhibition Annemieke Mein: A Life’s Work - A Retrospective on now until 26 May Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale in The Middle of Everywhere It’s just an hour’s drive from Port Albert Waterview Retreat. A tip is to arrive early (opens at 9am) and enjoy a leisurely look at the works up close and there are many works to admire and enjoy. There is a dedicated shop too with wonderful souvenirs, books as well as the Visitors Centre shop filled with fabulous local produce gifts and hand-made works by talented local artisans and a cafe with great coffee!! I took these photos to show the beauty and the intricate work in these amazing works. It’s breathtaking. There is also a display of garments and sculptures as well as sketches of Anne’s work.
This is truly a magnificent exhibition and superbly curated. Congratulations to all involved at Regional Arts Victoria: Gippsland.

We made a start on building a new vegetable garden. First we have to demolish the old structure that we inherited. The soil is very good and we will use it and mix it with our compost. We already have 2 raised garden beds to put in place once we have done the preparation. It’s a big job and work in progress.
