The formidable shark in the foreground, holding territory and here dispatching a rival is the mighty Mrs. Moo, a mature great white shark over 17ft in length who was a regular visitor to the Neptune Islands until about 10 years ago. There is still hope for her return as other giant mature female sharks have reappeared after intervals of over 12 years.

As the sun sets over the Neptune Islands, the sharks’ stealthy ability to ambush fur seals and our bait lines becomes even more effective, and they appear to become more active.

The abundance of AI-generated shark images on social media has understandably sparked skepticism about the authenticity of genuine photos. While heavy editing can blur the lines of reality, strategic editing techniques like cropping, converting to monochrome, or removing distractions can enhance the image without crossing the line and take the viewer “into the moment” This level of editing is distinct from creating composite images or importing new elements, and even then, such artistic photo-edits should not be then confused with AI-generated creations.

4x great whites each day was the norm under the MV. Rodney Fox this past expedition. This a very strong indication that the Summer Season is established and activity is likely to increase further.

3 X Lovely great whites welcomed the
MV. Rodney Fox early this morning, with another arriving later in the day. This is a very strong sign that the sharks are gearing up for the fabulous Summer Season.
