Upgrades to the new accessible walkway and viewing platform at Tacking Point Lighthouse are now complete 🙌

The provision of this brand-new accessible infrastructure will support a more inclusive cross section of the community and our visitors.

The upgrades include:
👣 a fibre reinforced composite walkway
🖐️ accessible handrails and safety fencing
🐳 whale watching lookouts and artistic pieces
💺 hardwood and sandstone bench seating.

Upgrades were made possible thanks to the NSW State Government and Port Macquarie Hastings Council.

The hike to Rawson Falls in Boorganna Nature Reserve is like a breath of fresh air, descending 1.7km through the subtropical rainforest to a viewing platform above the falls. From here, descend another 1km to the base of the falls and take a dip in the fresh waters.

Port Mac's very own Bella the Bronze Koala is making headlines!

Bella is Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail's first sculpture made in bronze and took over 12 months to create in collaboration with a fine art foundry in Sydney.

You'll find Bella at the newly opened McDonalds on Lake Road, Port Macquarie - just around the corner from the Hello Koalas Gallery and Gift Shop. Last minute gift ideas anyone? 🐨

Guulabaa - Place of Koala - Cowarra State Forest is officially open! 🐨

Guulabaa plays host to a variety of visitor experiences located within beautiful Cowarra State Forest. Devoted to the overarching theme of ‘Caring for Country’, Guulabaa offers visitors a variety of opportunities for relaxation, learning and fun within a natural, hardwood forest.

Welcoming visitors from the carpark is The Big Koala, a 2.5 metre sculpture painted by local artist Pauline Roods, part of the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail. Koala Conservation Australia operates the world’s first wild Koala breeding facility on site, where visitors can learn about the ongoing rejuvenation of the koala species following the 2019-2020 Mid-North Coast fires on surrounding environments. WildNets is a unique treetop experience, offering visitors the chance to bounce around in the forest canopy, whilst Bunyah Local Aboriginal Land Council’s café provides refreshments at The Hub, an architect designed suite of decks where visitors can take in the sights and sounds of Cowarra State Forest.

Forestry Corporation’s picnic area and walking tracks round out the Guulabaa experience, an unmissable stop on the NSW Mid North Coast.
