Port Neill Primary School and Playcentre

Port Neill Primary School and Playcentre Port Neill is a rural primary school set in an idyllic location on the Lower Eyre Peninsula coastline.

Port Neill is a small rural primary school set in an idyllic location on the Lower Eyre Peninsula coastline. The town of Port Neill has changed over the years from being a service centre for the surrounding farming areas, and is now predominately a holiday and retirement centre set on a picturesque bay. The school has enviable facilities and resources, with pleasant, spacious and practical learnin

g areas. A new classroom was provided during 2010 under the Commonwealth Building the Education Revolution funding. There is 1:1 ratio of students to laptops, a wireless broadband network, and interactive whiteboard technology is in use. Video Conferencing facilities assist in delivering Indonesian Language lessons to students through blended learning. The school has a friendly, family atmosphere and a strong rapport between staff, students and parents. Due the low student to teacher ratio, early intervention to provide targeted assistance to all students is possible. A particular strength of the school is the ability to cater for individual differences and develop individualized programs for every student, addressing their needs in a comprehensive manner. The school is an integral part of the Port Neill community with regular social events bringing the community together.

Today we had an incredible day with Dr Shelly Paull from Parks and Wildlife. We explored the Port Neill Jetty and Foreshore and the habitats that a variety of animals and plants live in. We learnt about all the different species of animals that use our coastline and what they need to have a healthy home! All students were engaged and had a wonderful day exploring and learning!

A huge thank you to the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board for supporting this project through its Grassroots Grant Program, made possible by the regional landscapes levy.

PNPS have joined the Interschool Puzzle Club and today was our first practice at doing puzzles in teams.

There was lots of learning about working together as a team, taking on different roles in a group, and getting our brains working to find puzzle pieces.

We will be working on strategies to get the quickest times possible and compete in the national puzzle competition against other schools. One group finished their 150 piece puzzle in 14mins and 14 secs!!

How lucky are we to share Sue at Port Neill as well! Happy Birthday Sue we hope you had a lovely day ๐ŸŽˆ

Happy Birthday Sue!

Our incredible gardener, finance officer, and guardian of all things historical. You hold a wealth of knowledge that we all appreciate and value.

Wishing you a day as wonderful as you are. Your dedication and passion for everything you do is truly inspiring, and we're so grateful to have you in our lives.

The students here at UPS are so lucky to be able to soak up everything you have to teach them. May this year bring you even more joy, success, and beautiful moments.
