'Leaning into our rich local history of a love for the dramatics, throwing a good fundraiser party and calling anyone anything but their given name, Quairading Rainmakers Inc invite you to join us for a wedding celebration for the ages.

Wear your most extravagant retro op-shop formal outfit as we celebrate a gender bending unholy matrimony of two of Quairading’s greats, veiled in poorly written inuendoes and wedding movie cliches. Every corny, cheesy, romantic and rogue wedding trope you can think of, we'll have - and you'll be a part of the action as a dearly beloved wedding guest (who's paying to be there). Or, if nothing else, it's a damn good reason to get out of the house, off the farm and share a few laughs with your mates'

WA Classic Speedway Association members have enjoyed another fabulous season visiting the Quairading Speedway track once a month for six glorious months.

From pre season busy bees to Christmases in July, quality banter and good times, we love knowing these folk are enjoying a special part of our patch and keeping a piece of our history alive.

The grand opening of the Quairading Speedway was held on Saturday 4th October 1970, meaning it's almost 55 years old! Sounds like a good excuse for a party 🤩

Our favourite day of the week - Flavour Town Friday!

You'll find one of our newest points of interest, the Old State School Site, on McLennan Street opposite the school.

As a result of the heritage listed building burning down in 2016 this site now houses interpretive signage, a memorial plaque, seating and a garden, creating an inviting space.

The first official request for a school in Quairading was sent to the Education Department on 11th October 1911 which led to Miss Mary Bolton opening the first Quairading State School in the Agricultural Hall on 11th March 1912.

The following year a contract for 370 pounds was awarded to build a single room school building on Lot No. 129 McLennan Street and it was completed by the 20th October 1913. In time more classrooms were required and these were built on the existing school site which led to the first state school building being utilised as a manual arts room.

A feature at the Old State School Site is the sharing of the John Kickett Story. John was an Aboriginal man who simply wanted his offspring educated, and kept moving his family in the early 1900s struggling to find someone who would teach them.

We're very proud that the Quairading District High School Year 4/5 class of 2022 won the National Museum of Australia, Digital Classroom Award with their presentation of the history of John Kickett.

What a perfect opportunity Halloween is for our tight knit community to safely let our children wander door to door socialising with friends, neighbours, townsfolk and businesses. Building self esteem, encouraging creativity and community building all in one!

Shout out to and REED Quairading staff for going all out with costumes along with , Quairading Book Post, Quairading Anglican Church and 16 householders for being a part of creating great memories.

Out with the old and in with the new - ‘Greg “Bounce” Richards’ electronic football and cricket scoreboard.

The old scoreboard is showing its last hurrah of season 2024 in a game of football against York with the beginnings of the new scoreboard in the foreground.

The new scoreboard had its first outing when Quairading hosted the 1st semi-final on Sunday 25th August 2024 and was officially 'opened' on Friday 20th September.

It's always sad when a piece of history disappears, but there will be so many memories amongst all who trod the boards, shuffling the numbers on game day and the acknowledgement of Bounce (Greg) Richards' contribution to sport in Quairading is pretty special.

We're very excited to share with you that Quairading is a finalist in three categories of the Keep Australia Beautiful WA Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Awards, with winners to be announced on 29th November.

Our much loved Kwirrading Koort park along with Quairading District High School's Bush Tucker Garden feature as General Appearance and Environmental Education finalists.

Plus, Quairading is one of six finalists in the overall State Award along with Collie, Karratha, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Port and South Hedland and Sandstone.

The Quairading Club is always a great spot to kick back, have a chat, enjoy a cold drink, and this Sunday perhaps even witness some local talent.

Sunday's forecast is looking warm and sunny, a perfect arvo to come and park yourself in the Beer Garden and soak up our first Jam Sesh!

We'd love to see any and all locals get involved - you can strum your guitar in the corner or put on a whole performance and we reckon it'll be pretty easy to incite a sing-a-long or two. See you there!
