They're here! ๐Ÿ˜
We're getting reports coming in thick and fast of humpback whales hitting The Margaret River Region coastlines as they make their way north for their annual calving season. ๐Ÿ‹

Flinders Bay in Augusta has been particularly populous with the 'humpies' as they round Cape Leeuwin and charge ahead to warmer waters. ๐ŸŒŠ

At the northern end of the region Cape Naturaliste has been providing sighting opportunities from the lighthouse and Sugarloaf Rock as golden puffs from surfacing whales glow in the afternoon light. ๐ŸŒ…

In just a couple of months however the action will really heat up! Once the whales begin the journey back south, Geographe Bay will fill up with these massive marine mammals and locations such as Point Picquet (pictured here by ๐Ÿ“ท via IG) will provide some of the best whale watching opportunities in all of as they come within tens of meters of the shoreline ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
