Last night we hosted the Club's "Meet the Maker" wine and dinner event featuring Vélo Wines Tasmania. A brilliant 3-course menu put together by Stacy, Sam and the extended team from De Silva Lining Hospitality matched to the 8 stunning wines of the Velo portfolio tasted on the evening and with some wine based games thrown in, a great night was had by all! We are delighted to be hosting our good friends at Vélo Wines Tasmania for the next installment of the Meet the Maker series, to be held on Thursday 12 September. Tickets are only $100pp and with a night full of great wine, delicious food and fun games, the night promises to be another wonderful event.

The Menu has now been confirmed and will be as follows:

Roaming Snacks - to match the 24' Pinot Gris and NV sparkling

Cacio e pepe popping crisps (pecorino and black pepper popping crisps)
Parmesan and popcorn cones (works really well with Sparkling)
salt and vinegar potato wafers

Entrees (served cold) - to match with 24' Riesling and Chardonnay

Smoked Tasmanian salmon carpaccio, pickled fennel, avocado creme, pink grapefruit
Tasmanian scallop ceviche, palm heart, preserved lemon, wood sorrel

Mains (served hot) - to match Rose and Pinot with sneaky taste of Cab Merlot

72 hr braised beef short rib, pomme puree, asparagus & caramelised onion
Dry aged duck breast, confit beetroot, silverbeet & a rhubarb, cherry chutney

Dessert (served cold) - matched with 3 bridges Botrytis Semillon

Surprise dessert collaboration with Prosper the executive pastry chef and part owner of Manu Bakery of Invermay & DSL Hospitality

The dessert will honour all classic and unexpected ingredient matches with the above wine. Such things as Blue cheese, pineapple, pear, caramelised onion, apricot & honey will feature.

Bookings and payments can now be made by calling the office on 6327 3312 (option 2) or by popping into the Bar/Office when you are at the Club.

If you’ve been without power over the weekend and looking for somewhere to have a shower, please feel free to drop in to the golf club today. We have hot water, a fully stocked bar and TV’s if you need to get out of the house! Open for the whole community, not just our members.

This coming Sunday 11 August, the Club will assume the operations of the pro shop. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Committee of Management, staff and members to thank “Swan Golf” for being the contractor for the last 15 years. In particular to Michael Swan and his family for their contribution to the Club during this time. 👏

Michael and his team of staff including Amanda, Ty and Di have built friendships and relationships with our members, guests and visitors over the years and and we are excited to have them under the Club’s pro shop arrangement moving forward.

Other than the installation of a new POS system on Sunday, our golfers will see little difference in the day-to-day operations of the pro shop.

As we get to the end of National Volunteer Week across Australia, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all our wonderful volunteers at the golf club. Whether they are working on the golf course with weekly maintenance jobs or golf course upgrades, working behind the bar or providing the guidance of the Club as a Committee member, our volunteers do an outstanding job and it wouldn’t be the same without them. Well done and thank you! 👏

For the second year running, Mark and the team at The Riverside Golf Club Inc Tas have put in so much effort to host a Golf Day in support of Stay ChatTY ⛳

Callan was excited to catch up with Mark and some of the players last week, to hear all about the success of the day and share in a meaningful conversation about our work.

Knowing that many conversations were sparked as a result of making mental health a priority not only for the day, but more generally in the Club is the best part to see in action 🏌

Congratulations to our successful North team in the North vs South Trophy completed today. Lead by our very own Amanda Smith, the North won 3 out 3 yesterday and secured the victory when they won 5 out of the 6 matches today. 8 out of 9 wins ain’t bad! Well done to all involved 🏆 🎉

Taking the title of Champion was Amanda Smith, with Mel Thurlow and Betty Piesse taking the B and C Grade Championships. Our nett winners this year were Eliza Cloherty (A Grade), Rose Searle (B Grade) and Di Healey (C Grade). Well done!

We are delighted to be supporting Women & Girls Month in March and will be hosting a Family Day on Sunday 17 March. There will be a kids and adult clinic with Ty Ebdon, putting competition, face painting and an opportunity to play a round of golf on the day. Bookings are essential via the QR links in the pictures.
