Good Morning,

Just a further update regarding Rex flight cancellations between Brisbane, Roma and Charleville.

Currently all Rex services to and from Brisbane have been cancelled Thurs 06 March, Fri 07 March and Sat 08 March.

Greyhound Bus and Westlander train services have also been suspended until further notice.

Good Evening,

Please pass onto family or friends regarding Rex flight cancellations between Charleville, Roma and Brisbane on Wed 5 March, Thurs 6 March and Fri 7 March.

If you have booked with us at Maranoa Travel we have made every effort to contact our customers this afternoon to advise of the recent cancellations and will be available to rebook or credit your travel from 9am tomorrow morning.

We have been advised Greyhound buses are still operating however the Westlander train has been suspended until further notice.

Statement regarding Rex Airlines

Maranoa Regional Council is aware that REX Airlines has been placed into voluntary administration overnight.

We understand that while some routes have been cancelled, these are between capital cities. Regional services are currently being maintained. This includes all services to Roma Airport under the Queensland State Government's regulated air services agreement.

REX has advised that customers can continue to make bookings at rex.com.au or via your travel agent.

Council is encouraged by the Federal Government's strong recognition that regional air services are vital for communities such as ours. We continue to work with all levels of government to advocate for our community.

As part of our ongoing Airport planning, Council will proceed with previously announced community engagement sessions. These are designed to provide an opportunity for residents and users to ask questions and provide feedback to Council regarding the general services offered at the Roma Airport.

Details of these sessions will be announced later this week.
