Ravenswood Farmhouse is set in a rambling country garden with views to the distant hills and across paddocks of sheep and cattle. A commercial working farm, Ravenswood has been in the Hamilton family for 4 generations. Sheep and cattle graze on our 3,000 acre property so you are likely to see us with our working kelpies moving stock, on motorbikes and tractors. With the backdrop of Tongbong Mounta
in (pronounced Tung-bung) and the surrounding hills, scattered dams and grand eucalyptus trees, you'll be immersed in nature and country life. The garden and farmhouse are for your exclusive use to relax and enjoy. There are some lovely walks around the property, spectacular views from the top of Tongbong, and plenty of wildlife. Significant birdlife comes and goes with the seasons and many native herbs and forbs are found across areas of the property. Surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, we are the gateway to World Heritage listed Wollemi National Park, home of the famous Wollemi Pine. Amazing natural attractions include Ganguddy (Dunns Swam), Ferntree Gully, Bylong Valley, Windamere Dam and the Capertee Valley. The historic town of Rylstone is only a 5 minute drive from Ravenswood with a charming heritage streetscape and surprising foodie delights, boutique shops and local vineyards. If you are keen to travel another 40 minutes up the road, you will pass through the village of Lue and be delighted by the town of Mudgee with its vineyards, cafes, restaurants, shopping precinct and more natural wonders including The Drip and Cudgegong River. The farmhouse has 2 living areas plus outdoor areas, providing plenty of space to enjoy as a group or to find a secluded spot to unwind. Air conditioning and a wood fire keeps the living areas comfy and all beds have electric blankets for those cooler nights. You'll find a smart TV, WiFi, board games and books for adults and kids.
