🎬 Last weekend, Glen Innes was visited by an SBS film crew, supporting Ernie Dingo as he explores significant landmarks throughout Australia for his television show, ‘Going Places with Ernie Dingo’.

😍 Ernie and his team visited the Christmas in the Highlands markets, The Australian Standing Stones National Celtic Monument, and they even attended the St Andrew’s Day Flag-lowering Ceremony at The Croft Celtic Cultural Centre and Cafe Glen Innes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Despite the rainy weather, Ernie and his team were treated to an evening of entertainment, including highland dancing, singing, food & drink, and a rousing Address to the Haggis.

📹 The film crew thoroughly enjoyed themselves and recorded much footage of the Glen Innes Highlands region over the weekend.

📺 We look forward to seeing the highlights of our town showcased on an upcoming episode!

📷 Pictured here in front of the film crew are members of the Glen Innes Pipe Band alongside Judi Toms, Chairperson of The Australian Standing Stones Management Board, and Ernie Dingo.

AbFab Tours 'A Day in Coffs Harbour' Saturday 6th July 2024.
'All aboard' with anticipation of a happy day ahead. AbFab Tours group left in the Jacaranda City Coach with a clear blue sky overhead in Grafton to
drive past the Big Banana and around the bend where the bus's windscreen wipers were immediately turned on as a shower of rain greeted us as we viewed the Coffs - harbour, City and Mountains.
Today AbFabbers were immersed in the rich history of The South Solitary Island Lighthouse Optic located at the Coffs Harbour Jetty Precint, shared by Chris Bramley, President of FOSSILS, who also shared a romantic love story. Which AbFabbers all loved listening too.
The delightful Coffs Harbour Librarian, Belinda Lancey, boarded our coach to be our 'on the bus' tour guide who shared the 'not so known' history on the Bunkers which started life 80 years ago as Air Force underground Bunkers in WW11.
Thereafter, we were welcomed by Joe Elliott, our enthusiastic Host who ‘talked' us through the ' Yaamanga Around Here' Exhibition at the Yarrila Arts & Museum (YAM). YAM is a modern day State of The Arts Museum. Very spacious and very impressive.
Quite a few AbFabbers took part in the onsight workshop to learn traditional weaving techniques.
Our FabTastic day continued at the Coffs Ex-Servicemens Club with the comedy musical Production live show 'The Grandparents Club', which celebrated the wonderful world of grandparenting. There was much laughter from the captivated audience as we joined in the fun and nostalgia with the superb acting, dancing and singing to 60's & 70's music. At the conclusion of the very entertaining show, as they say in the Toyota world, 'Oh What a Feeling'.
A Fabulous day all round and the rain didn't deter AbFabbers the oppportunity to enjoy a Fabtastic day out.

AbFAb Tours – Kings Plains Castle (KPC) - Emmaville- Bens Falls Tour. Frid 17th May 2024 - Day 3/3.
I (Debbie) often ponder, what 'ingedients' make travelling and exploring this great country of ours so so very special. As well as the uniqueness of the destinations, the history connected to a location, my thoughts are, its the people, the 'larger than life' people - the characters who each and everyone have their own story. And of course the company one shares this with. A great recipe, all mixed together has given AbFabbers an absolutely fabulous few days to experience, share, have fun, laughter and learn lots on history just west of the Gibraltar range.
Today we met living local legends of the Emmaville district:
Ann Fairbank, (who along with her husband Rod and a small committee) dedicated restoring the Emmaville Courthouse.
Ronny Gillett, has been President of Mining Museum for 22 years.
2002 Ronny awarded the Premiers Award.
2008 Senior Volunteer of the year.
Allana Price, owner of Bens Falls Retreat/Restaurant.
Our AbFabber's day was complete with high quality ingredients blended to make a perfect day in every way: Great presenters, great locations, great food, great company.
Life is good.
Debbie's philosophy: We are not here for a long time, we are here for an AbFab time. And that the AbFabbers did.

AbFAb Tours – Kings Plains Castle (KPC) Tour. Thurs 16th May 2024 - Day 2/3. A much enjoyed day with fine weather exploring with local Inverell's true asset and ambassador - Anne Clysdale, who is a brilliant & knowledgeable Tour Guide.
Free time to shop in Inverell and therafter a fabulous afternoon at the New England Woodturning & Sculptures family owned business and worked by the very talented Rob and Gail Day.
We felt so very tiny standing at the base of a wind turbine.
An evening of warmth sitting around the 3 indoor fires, fun and laughter at Kings Plains Castle with dress theme, Scotish.
The Womens State of origin had great results - Go the Blues💙🏈

AbFAb Tours – Kings Plains Castle (KPC) Tour. Wed 15th May 2024 - Day 1/3.
Todays designations - Danthonia Bruderhof Community and the enchanting Kings Plains Castle (KPC) for two nights.
It's great to be back on the road again and there is always a 'good feeling' as we travel west over the Gibraltar range.
In the evening, whilst AbFabbers sat around the 'dancing of flames' Fire place in the KPC we reflected on our day: we could not of praised our day any higher. We recapped the unique experience of our visit to the Danthonia Bruderhof Community. We were made to feel so very welcome and were guided enthusiastically by Donal McKernan and many members of the Bruderof Community.
It is certainly a wonderful place with amazing people and there is a 25th anniversay, celebrating being established in Australia, coming up soon (see photos for details). This event would be a great opportunity for you to book in for a visit.
Location - 43kms west of Glen Innes.
Another highlight of the day:
The Kings Plains Castle. I am excited to share this is AbFAb Tours 13th stay at KPC - being the 5th 2xnights at KPC. As we continued our coversation sipping our drinks our comments continued on our fabtastic day: one comment was we were travelling and travelling what appeared to be in the middle of 'no-where' and up ahead emerges a magificent building - a castle of boronial architecture, partially covered with Boston Ivy creeper in brilliant Autumn hues. WOW our home for 2 nights. Life is good.
Some sad news for todays and past AbFabbers- the majestic 19 year old Texas Longhorn Bullock, 'Hurashio' has 'passed over' to greener pastures - RIP.
