Fantastic news! We are proud to support this wonderful event and pleased to see it will still be hosted on Dunghutti Country this year.

Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance is happy to announce a reschedule of our much beloved Festival for 2024 in light of the event being called off earlier this month due to rain. After consultation with Kempsey Shire Council, performers, the SWFW Festival Committee and others, the 2024 Festival is now going to be held on Saturday the 20th of July 2024.

Additionally, the festival will now be held on the grounds of the Kempsey Race Club, which has a large undercover area, adequate amenities, connected utilities, dedicated parking, and is along a regular bus route. The event may have a different look, feel and layout than what we originally intended to deliver at Smithtown Riverside Park, but will still have all the important elements everyone has come to expect at Saltwater Freshwater events.

The Main Stage line-up has changed somewhat as some of the artists originally scheduled for the Smithtown event have conflicts for the new date, but we will still deliver an amazing line-up of performers as well as our regional dancers to entertain you on the day. We will also have our Elders area, weaving and canoe workshops, Yarn Stage and language elements, kid’s area as well as a large variety of Aboriginal arts and craft plus yummy food stalls. Saltwater Freshwater appreciates your ongoing support and understanding and apologises for any inconveniences with the rescheduled date and location. The Macleay River ~ as you embark on the scenic drive up the Macleay River en route to Bellbrook, you’re greeted by vast natural beauty. The road meanders alongside the river, its water glistening under the reflection of the sun, ever so inviting! Don’t forget to pack your Akubra Hats.

Ready to race into the weekend? Three days of action packed racing are coming up at Kalateenee Mountain Bike Park.

Friday will see the next generation pedal it out in the NSW Schools Mountain Bike Series XC, followed by Saturday’s Cross Country event. The Gravity Enduro event will wrap up the three days of racing on Sunday. Spectators are welcome, it's sure to be a thrilling event!
