Charlotte Street 1935
Charlotte Street was a cul-de-sac opening onto the north side of Briton Street. The street dates back to at least 1791. It is shown on Milne's map of that date. The houses were probably built in the early 19th century. They were demolished in the 1930s as part of a slum clearance scheme. Queen's Way was later built over the site. These views are either of Charlotte Street or one of the adjoining courts.

1. Church Of St Nicholas, Millbrook 1910
The old Millbrook church of St Nicholas, probably built in the 16th century, was in a ruinous state of repair in the late 18th century; an Act of Parliament for it to be pulled down was eventually obtained in 1797. However, money for a new church could not be found and instead repairs were carried out on the old church. It continued to deteriorate and was eventually replaced by Holy Trinity Church in 1872. It was finally demolished in 1938.

St Mary`s Church, South Stonham 1930

A church which belies the fact that it within the city. As the church guide of 1979 says: 'St. Mary's has retained all the charm of a country church, and still looks much as it has done for centuries'. It is one of the illogicalities of local history that although there is a parish of South Stoneham there has never been a village of that name. Compare with the village of Swaythling, which has never had a church called after it.
