Straddling the border between New South Wales and Queensland, the fascinating town of Mungindi is a truly one-of-a-kind expereince.

Its name, originating from an Aboriginal term signifying "water hole," reflects its deep ties to the land and rich cultural background. The town is famous for its friendly community and lively local events that unite residents and draw visitors.

The Barwon River, meandering through Mungindi, provides a scenic backdrop for activities like fishing, kayaking, and tranquil riverside picnics. The rural landscape surrounding the town features cotton fields and pastures, creating a picturesque scene that transforms with the seasons. From this central location, visitors can explore the unique attractions of both New South Wales and Queensland, offering a taste of the best from each state.

Mungindi's distinct dual-state identity is evident in its facilities, including two post offices, two police stations, and separate local regulations. This quirk adds to the town's appeal, highlighting its fascinating position and the collaborative efforts needed to govern a border community.

And now Thallon is officially the Best Grey Nomad Friendly Town in Australia and home to the Best Grey Nomad Experience in Queensland!🥳🙌

Here are a few of our top suggestions for things to do in Thallon:
