We may be on our scheduled maintenance break but we have been very busy in the background polishing our beautiful Red Boat Harbour Master II and getting things prepared for a bumper remainder of 2024. We kicked off the Strahan Solstice in style last night with our cocktail party on the red boat. It was so much fun dressing up Harbour Master II in true solstice style and how fabulous it was to see so many people supporting our event in their best red outfits!!! The evening was an absolute blast with fabulous food, great entertainment by Croon and delicious cocktails by . Can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Evening Cruise

Want to explore our backyard with us? We have an extra sailing tomorrow afternoon/evening Tuesday 12th March, including dinner and sensational scenery.

Weather and waves permitting.... we can take you to see this spectacular lighthouse.

Cape Sorell Lighthouse is a sight to behold and the thrill of going through Hell's Gates and out to sea is really something else. Come and explore the beautiful sights of Macquarei Harbour, The Grodon River and beyond with us.

Sarah Island is the first of our two on-shore guided walks during our Heritage Morning and Afternoon cruise, where tales of fear and dread of the ex convict settlement are brought to life by expert guides.

Be sure to jump on board the beautiful family owned Harbour Master II sailing each morning and evening to the majestic Gordon River from today 28th December until 16th January. We love it when the birds fly alongside the beautiful Harbour Master II, this inquisitive Cormorant came to say hi as we were departing the Gordon River a few days ago.

The Red Boat

After cruising the Gordon River and Macquarie Harbour for over 120 years, our locally owned and operated family business can promise you a cruise you will never forget. We love sharing this magical place that we call home with people from all around the world, and invite you to join us on an unforgettable experience in this stunning landscape.

We start our journey from Strahan to the mouth of Macquarie Harbour - Hells Gates, an intriguing name for an intriguing land mark where there is many a tale of close encounters, lucky escapes, and the not so lucky, in this treacherous stretch of water.

Then we head back towards the mouth of the Gordon River with a visit to some working fish farms and a fabulous guided tour of Sarah Island - the famous penal settlement.

It’s time to glide up the magnificent Gordon River while you enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, and maybe a cheeky glass of Tasmanian Wine. At Heritage Landing you have a chance to stretch those legs again and walk amongst ancient trees before we glide back down the Gordon River.
