On our popular two day K’gari Cultural Tour, passengers are hosted by the Butchulla people. This lucky group got to witness this painting made sand from Rainbow Beach. It’s about the story of K’gari’s creation. The rainbow spirit shown is Yendingie who created the landscape, while the Island is the beautiful princess K’gari.

This Butchulla Scarred Tree is located near Central Station on K’gari. The tree is considered very significant due to its canoe scar. While the tree is dead, the scar is in good condition and a 3D scan has been done by Griffith University to ensure there is a permanent record of the tree.
