🛟⚓️Marine Rescue Sussex Inlet have had their busiest Summer for rescues in at least 4 years. They will have their collection buckets out at both music events this weekend, raising funds to fuel and maintain their vessel.

Australia Day heart health checks at Swordfish brewing reserve 11:30am-3:30pm Sunday 26 January.

Heartbeat of Sport a not for profit organisation is promoting heart health through sport. The foundation is focused on reducing the number of cardiac arrests through proactive testing and the promotion of defibrillators at sporting grounds. Cardiovascular disease claims the life of 1 person every 12mins in Australia and is killing three times as many women as breast cancer. Come along and get your health report on the spot.

Australia Day - Free Heart Health tests ❤️❤️‍🩹❤️

The Shoalhaven council Australia Day Ambassador Andy Paschalidis will be offering services for the Sussex Inlet Community on Sunday 26 January as part of the Australia Day Community Picnic. Two nurses will be testing from 11:30am-3:30pm. Come on down to the reserve outside Swordfish Brewing and get tested.

Looking to get out and about, there's plenty happening for everyone!

🎼🎤Saturday 25 January: Music @ the Lake with Michelle Cashman and the Sandy Bottoms. Errol Bond Reserve 5pm-7pm. Drop into Cuddy cafe for a bite to eat or bring a picnic.

🏖Sunday 26 January: Australia Day awards Swordfish Brewing deck 10:30am-12pm. Shoalhaven Council Citzenship Ceremony and Australia Day Awards - Food - Refreshments provided by Swordfish after the event for the Citizenship and Australia Day recipients and guests.

🛟⚓Putters Boat Parade: The traditional boats will parade in front of the brewery around 11:30am. You can catch them from Chris Creek upriver past the RSL and along to the caravan parks before they return to the brewery. See the map in the images for details of the route.

🍦🍕Community picnic: Peter Hughes - A multi instrumentalist , Peter has crafted an impressive collection of original songs based on his extensive travels around Australia. He also plays many familiar Australian songs in his repertoire Michelle Cashman - Michelle Cashman: Americana troubadour with captivating melodies and a voice with living vivid history. A powerful fusion of folk storytelling and Americana grit. The Sandy Bottoms - Sandy Bottoms are a local group of fine musicians and singers playing up beat Rhythm & Blues ,Reggae and Classic Hits guaranteed to get you clapping your hands and stomping your feet. Thank you Sussex Inlet Community 👏

Our Chamber of Commerce Greenhouse weekend support strategy was an outstanding success.

🍅🍅 The pop up greenhouse stall at the markets sold all produce with $2946 raised.
🎼🎤 The donations collected by Marine Rescue Sussex Inlet for the Greenhouse at the Summer@Sussex music event raised $700.
🍺🍹The 'power hour' at Swordfish Brewing resulted in $1640.
A total of $5286 raised for the Sussex Greenhouse

What's next!
Each Saturday from 9:30am-11:30am the Chamber will be doing the pop up Greenhouse stall near the community church in Jabobs Drive to sell Greenhouse produce and Sussex Sourdough 🥖🍅

A volunteers strategy is also being developed to support Toni with planting and harvesting produce and general Greenhouse maintenance. If you would like to volunteer and be added to the roster please email [email protected] 📨

Businesses and community coming together to support one of our amazing small businesses. Check out all the opportunities below to get involved:

Saturday 11 January
8:30am-12:30pm - Visit the pop up fruit and veggie stall at the markets. Sussex Sourdough will have their fabulous bread for sale.
3:30pm-4:30pm - It's power hour at Swordfish Brewing where all brewery sales will benefit the Greenhouse
5:00pm-7:00pm - Marine Rescue Sussex Inlet will be doing a gold coin collection for the Greenhouse at the Summer @ Sussex music event in front of Swordfish Brewery. Get your dancing shoes on and let's fill those buckets!

Across the whole weekend both Wicked Bites Pizza and Swordfish Brewing will be making pizzas featuring Greenhouse produce. A percentage of the cost of each pizza will help support the greenhouse.
