Let's learn about Mount Fuji! 😍
VS Oceania delivered an online English Lesson to the Japanese students from Takayama Junior High School. The main objective is verbal communication in English. The aim of this online English Program is to instil in the students the confidence to converse with their Homestay families, the vocabulary to fully enjoy their excursions, and they want to continue their English studies upon their return to Australia when the international borders reopen. Well done Takayama Junior High School students!!
What the year-long Covid crisis has taught us.
It is possible to do “some” things online, but student exchange? We think it’s fair to say the tourism industry hasn’t been at the forefront of embracing digital technology. Before the pandemic, remote working and online exchange were almost unheard of.
It has been over a year now since the international borders were closed. Over the last 12 months of Covid- 19, we have been re-investing, re-invigorating and refreshing ourselves to create new opportunities for ourselves, our students and host families.
Until all the travel restrictions between Australia and Japan are lifted, VS Oceania are keenly interested in organising “Online Exchange programs” between Australian and Japanese schools.
We strongly believe that the connection between Australian and Japanese schools online will be of enormous help in kick-starting the physical exchange programs when the international borders re-open.
Take a listen to this beautiful song. The song is called “Kitte no Nai Okurimono” or “A gift without a stamp”.
The translated lyrics of the song are below.
I'll send you this song,
From me to you...
To you, my beloved,
All alone in this world.
I'll send you this song,
From me to you, my loved ones,
Thank you for raising me with your love,
This song is for you, mum and dad.
I'll send you this song...
You, who has no dream,
Take this magical song,
So that you may know the joy of love.
I'll send you this song,
You, to whom I bid farewell...
I want you to listen to it when you're lonely,
This song from heaven.
To you, my beloved.
