Update from our Girls On Tour …

So many highlights today as we left the Western Corridor and travelled towards Seronera before crossing into Ngorongoro National Park.

A real treat this morning as we got to witness a small part of the Great migration coming from the Serengeti woodlands and heading to northern Serengeti.

We made our way to UNESCO listed Olduvai Gorge which is known as the cradle of mankind. Archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey carried out excavations from 1941 and their findings are on display at the new museum which also has a viewing platform that overlooks the gorge and its excavations.

We arrived at Ngorongoro Farmhouse where we’ll stay for two nights as we explore the crater. It’s a beautiful place that grows all their own produce and we’re looking forward to a great stay.

As the Girls On Tour group continues through East Africa we have received the following update …..

SERENGETI WEST CORRIDOR
A leisurely start to the day with a 10 o’clock departure from Serenity on the Lake. We entered Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti covers 40,763sq kms and today we explored some of the Western Corridor on our way to the amazing Lahia Tented Lodge.

There’s only one word to describe this place, wow!! Thanks Susie from The Africa Safari Co. for including this lodge in our itinerary. The common room and pool are stunning and our spacious ‘tents’ are nothing short of luxurious with lovely linen, beautiful furniture, filtered water, balcony with views over the Serengeti and an outdoor shower which also offers great views.

After a delicious family lunch, we set off for a game drive and had the most beautiful encounter with a herd of elephants including some babies.

We'll never get tired of watching the playful antics of lion cubs. These boisterous youngsters were spotted recently at Zarafa in Botswana's Okavango Delta. This pristine expanse of wilderness is perfect for these big cats and we can already see that the new additions are going to feel right at home.⁣

Welcome to Khwai Leadwood

Set within the Okavango Delta’s community-run Khwai Concession, this beautiful camp is tucked under the trees on the edge of the Khwai River. This river is all that separates the iconic Moremi Game Reserve and the concession, with hippos, elephants and even lions crossing over from time to time. It doesn’t get much more exclusive than this. Camp Kala, Onguma, Namibia consists of only four guest Suites linked by raised walkways. Although the lodge is perfect for exclusive use for 8 to 12 guests, the 4 suites can also be booked individually. Spacious and private, the open-plan suites have sumptuous twin or king-sized beds with air-conditioning or, if you decide to sleep with open doors, a state-of-the-art air-cooling system cooling only the bed area.
