Our rockstar Travel Manager, Adi, was recently invited by Jeremy Baker from Sheraton Grand Hyde Park to attend the United Cup Final in Sydney—and it’s safe to say he had an ace of a time! 🎾

Held at the iconic Ken Rosewall Arena at Sydney Olympic Park, Adi was treated to an unforgettable showcase of tennis talent. The event featured an incredible lineup of superstars, including Coco Gauff (world #3 in women’s singles), Taylor Fritz (world #4 in men’s singles), and Iga Świątek (world #2 in women’s singles).

Gauff and Fritz dominated their finals, leading Team USA to a stunning victory in the team event!

Adi returned to the office buzzing with stories of the spectacular matches he witnessed. A huge thank you to Jeremy, Marriott Bonvoy and the Marriott team for hosting Adi—it’s an afternoon he won’t forget any time soon!

Dan’s second stop in Fiji was the breathtaking Kokomo Private Island, a six-star luxury escape he won’t soon forget.

Located within the Great Astrolabe Reef, this all-inclusive private island resort is accessible by seaplane or helicopter. Dan described the seaplane arrival as “utterly divine,” with breathtaking views of turquoise waters and a warm welcome from staff singing a traditional song.

The Island offers a wide range of activities and services and accommodations range from airy 1- to 3-bedroom villas to expansive 3- to 6-bedroom residences, complete with butler and nanny services. Absolute luxury!

Dining on the island is equally impressive, with multiple complimentary restaurant options. Dan was particularly wowed by Walker d’Plank, which serves Asian-style street food with flair. He raved about their weekly Fijian curry night, inspired by the head chef’s family recipes, calling it “utterly amazing.”

HAPPY SLAM RETURNS 🎾

The 2025 Australian Open, affectionately known as the Happy Slam, swung back into action at Melbourne Park this week, thrilling tennis fans worldwide with the start of another Grand Slam season!

Running from January 13 to January 26, with the final serve taking place at the Men's Final, this year’s tournament features 128 players in the main draw, including 32 seeded competitors and eight wildcards, all aiming to ace their way to the coveted title and a $3.5 million prize for both the Men's and Women's champions.

In 2024, the tournament broke records with over 1 million fans passing through the gates and generating 620,000 hotel nights in Victoria—50,000 more than ever before. The A List team couldn’t be more thrilled to see two of our favourite industries—travel and sport—smashing it out of the park!

While the holiday season wraps up for most, Hollywood is entering its most glamorous time of the year— 2024/25 awards season!

The Golden Globes officially kick things off today, and we’re absolutely buzzing with excitement and warming up the popcorn as we speak!

Four Aussies are in the running this year. Guy Pearce is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in The Brutalist, while Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer) and Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) go head-to-head for Best Supporting Actress.

Nicole Kidman is up for Best Actress in Babygirl, competing in a stacked category alongside Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton, and a triumphant Pamela Anderson.

While last year Barbie and Oppenheimer dominated awards season, there is no clear front-runner this year, but we are being treated to a particularly star-studded field of nominees—including the much-anticipated Wicked cast, guaranteeing plenty of excitement.

Our Operations & Product Director, Daniel Beck, recently holidayed in Fiji and, of course, couldn’t resist making the most of his trip by exploring some stunning properties!

First stop: Nanuku Resort, a tropical oasis on a private 500-acre coastal estate.

Part of the Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) collection, this stunning resort is located near Pacific Harbour, about 45 minutes from Suva, or a scenic 3-4 hour drive from Nadi. Guests can even opt to arrive by helicopter, as the resort has its own helipad.

Dan returned with rave reviews about the authentic Fijian experience the resort offers. With cultural ambassadors preserving local traditions and evenings filled with the sounds of local singers playing ukulele and guitar, great care has been taken to provide an authentic experience.

Accommodation options include suites offering sweeping ocean views, villas featuring private pools and gardens, and multi-bedroom residences that are perfect for families, with beachfront or clifftop locations. Dan particularly enjoyed the villa turndown service, which prepares the space for a restful night’s sleep.

The Kanavata Restaurant serves fresh, just-caught seafood, and other dining options include alfresco experiences on the beach, cliffside, or in the treetops.

Chantal and Ryan attended the launch of the Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands’ Spring-to-Summer menu and were wowed by the vibrant, summery flavours.

Curated by Head Chef Ryan Flaherty, the menu was enjoyed on the hotel’s stunning, Instagram-worthy pool deck beside the infinity pool—made even better by perfect weather.

Located in the heart of Docklands, the Melbourne Marriott combines ultra-modern design with resort-style sophistication. The property features 189 plush rooms, a striking curvaceous façade, a resort-style infinity pool with breathtaking views, and dining options showcasing flavours from Australia and beyond.

The A List team wrapped up 2024 with a lunch and site visit to one of our staple properties, Ace Hotel Sydney!

Rising 18 stories high with 257 ultra-cool rooms, Sydney is a favourite among our entertainment clients. Perfectly located on the edge of the CBD in Surry Hills, the property boasts a variety of stylish room types, complete with vinyl records and guitars, enhancing its creative and eclectic charm.

In addition to housing a kaleidoscopic collection of contemporary Australian art, the property offers multiple dining options, including its crown jewel, Kiln. Perched 18 stories above Surry Hills and led by Chef Mitch Orr, Kiln impressed our team once again with its delicious offerings and impeccable service.
