2 great trips today. These fantastic images shared by of a humpback with interesting colouration on its side showing as shades of peach or pink. When most mammals physically exert themselves, blood is pushed to the periphery to help the animal cool off, which could explain the skin pigment showing as pink on the white patches. It could also be a skin condition or lice which occur in humpback whales also.

🐋‼️Factful Friday‼️🐋

Whale Blowholes 📣
Cetacean nostrils have migrated through evolution to the top of the head to become blowholes.
S***m whales, dolphins and other toothed whales have just one blowhole. While baleen whales, such as blues and humpbacks, have a pair of blowholes, equivalent to human paired nostrils.
These duel blowholes are the reason the ‘blows’ of the humpback whale are seen as a heart shape on the horizon…🤍🤍🤍
As if we needed another reason to love the mighty humpback whale 🐋

Happy Mother's Day from the deep blue sea! 🐳

Did you know that mother whales are the true champions of the animal kingdom? Humpback whales, in particular, are extraordinary creatures. Their calves are born weighing between one and two tonnes, making them some of the biggest babies in the world! But that's just the beginning - they rely heavily on their mother's milk to grow and become stronger. 💪

As soon as they're born, humpback whale calves feed on their mother's thick, cream cheese-like milk, which is incredibly high in fat - up to 50%! This milk helps the calves develop at an astonishing rate. In fact, humpback whale calves reportedly drink several hundred litres of milk per day from their mother. 🍼

So, let's take a moment to appreciate all the amazing mothers out there, whether they're human or humpback whales. Happy Mother's Day! 🌸

And that’s a crazy big splash, sea drenched, end to the season!! Big shout our to our awesome customers who were great sports today and to our amazing crew !! The season wouldn’t have been the same without each and every one of you.
Don’t forget the whales. 🐋 They gave us some of everything over the season and some epic breaches to finish with.
