📣 Important notice: Visa application charges proposed in Budget 2023-24 📣
As you may know, each year the Australian Government adjusts Visa Application Charges (VACs) and a range of other fees in response to inflation. This year, there are some noteworthy changes as announced in the 2023 Budget.
In addition to the regular CPI indexation, VACs will increase by 6 percentage points for visa applications, as well as an additional 15 percentage points for select visitor and temporary visa subclasses and an additional 40 percentage points for business innovation and
investment visas 😮 💼📈
For most visa applications, there will be a 6% increase applied. CPI indexation is estimated to be between 6-7% this year. In total, a 12-13% increase in visa application charges!
As an example, if the visa application charge for the main partner visa applicant (820/801 and 309/100) increases by 13%, it will rise from from $8085 to an estimated $9136. If you're considering paying by credit card, please note that the Department charges a 1.4% surcharge for most cards, making the total cost close to $9263.
Similarly, Working Holiday Visa applications will rise from $510 to an estimated $622.20 (before transaction fees). 😲💳
