Top 4 job interview mistakes:

1. Being unprepared
As a candidate looking to make a good impression, please review your information to improve your performance and focus on important points according to the position speciality make sure that you fully understand the role on offer, the most important point is reading up on the company’s background its place in the market and its competitors. Also, it is a great idea to ensure you review any relevant profiles of Direct Supervisors/Role Reports you will be working for and also those who will be interviewing you, so you know a little about their background walking into the meeting.

2. Dressing inappropriately
Care about your style, according to your role. It is so important to put your best foot forward and corporate presentation is a must! Make it tasteful and appropriate for a professional environment, it only takes someone 7 seconds to draw an opinion on you upon first meeting you!

3. Talking too much or not enough
Avoid talking about everything and anything all at once. Be confident in your approach and have intelligent and appropriate conversations with your interviewers.

4. Criticizing previous employers or colleagues
Don’t ever complain or talk negatively about your current employer – no matter what you are experiencing. Be honest but professional in your explanation as to why you are seeking a new role and never badmouth your colleagues or moaning about your superiors as this is likely to not sit well with any potential employer and is likely blow your chances of success.

5. Failing to ask questions
As the interview draws to a close the interviewers will ask if you have any questions you'd like to ask them. It's never a good idea to say no. This is your opportunity to get answers to your queries about the role and the company so don't waste it. Asking a couple of relevant questions shows your interest in the role. You could ask about any current projects your potential team is working on or how any direct supervisors of the role like to work with their team members, what makes this approach successful.
