To entertain and slightly freak out the masses. Brian and Colleen were long term residents of The Rocks and collected many of the stories.

The company, has a long history of conducting tours. In 1992 they started with students studying History and in 1995 The Rocks Ghost Tours was born! Fifty years ago the seed for the Ghost Tours of The Rocks was sewn. Brian listened to many stories about local murders, suicides, unusual happenings and ghost stories told to him by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who all ran local boardin

g houses in The Rocks. Colleen had a passion for history and is a natural storyteller. Our current Ghost Host guides have been with us for many years and love to share the secrets of Sydney's dark past with you. Journey through haunted houses, where shadows creep through narrow alleyways and courtyards. Discover how a haunted past has created the spirits of today. With tours running nightly at 7:45pm we also specialise in private tours for corporate groups or private parties and School groups

Creepy 👻

😳 When Queen Anne Boleyn’s head was removed and held up to the crowd at her ex*****on in 1536, her mouth kept moving! 😳

😳 In Anne’s last moments, she knelt down in preparation for the ex*****oner’s blow, and began to pray loudly.
In an instant, the ex*****oner b~headed Anne with a single strike of his sword.
Some eyewitnesses reported that Anne’s lips continued to move for several seconds after her b~heading.
Did she remain conscious?
Is that even possible?

😳 The debate comes down to voluntary muscle reactions vs. pure consciousness.
Some believe movements, like Anne’s, are simply the result of the voluntary muscles that control the lips and eyes spasming after a shock.

😳 This is probably true for the rest of the body, but the head is home to our motherboard, the brain.
With a clean cut like Anne’s, the brain would not have received any trauma, and could very possibly continue to function until inevitable blood loss.

😳 How long it could function is really unknown.
Studies in small mammals have found that consciousness can last from four to 29 seconds, and we know that that chickens can run around with their heads decapitated for several of those.
Hence the phrase "Running around like a headless chicken"

😳 Not saying that Anne's headless co**se was running around the scaffold, but this is actually horrifying if you think about it, even for four short seconds.
Just count to four and take in everything around you.
Now imagine that, plus the shock and the panic, its no wonder Anne's lips were still moving!
Maybe she still had much to say, that was left unsaid.....

Brian and Colleen were long term residents of The Rocks and collected many of the stories from both their own and their neighbours experiences. Richard & Wes took over from Brian and Colleen in 2015 and continue the tradition of the company. The company, has a long history of conducting tours. 18 years ago they started with students studying History. Fifty years ago the seed for the Ghost Tours of The Rocks was sewn. Brian listened to many stories about local murders, suicides, unusual happenings and ghost stories told to him by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who all ran local boarding houses in The Rocks. Colleen had a passion for history and is a natural story teller.

There are a series of tours from Corporate tours through to Hens Ghost tours. The Rocks Tours operate every evening 7.30pm or by prior group tour arrangement. Our tours are listed on the rocks tours web page. Journey through haunted houses, where shadows creep through narrow alleyways and courtyards.
