NSW GOVERNMENT TAKES PRECAUTIONARY STEPS IN RESPONSE TO OMICRON VARIANT

The NSW Government has taken precautionary steps in relation to quarantine arrangements for overseas arrivals following the introduction of additional national border security measures by the Australian Government.

The new measures, which will take effect at midnight tonight, are:

• In line with Commonwealth measures, all travellers arriving in NSW who have been in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Malawi, and the Seychelles during the 14 day period before their arrival in NSW must enter hotel quarantine for 14 days, irrespective of their vaccination status;

• All travellers who have been in any other overseas country during the 14 day period before their arrival in NSW must travel directly to their place of residence or accommodation and isolate for 72 hours, pending further health advice;

• All flight crew who have been overseas during the 14-day period before their arrival in NSW must travel directly to their place of residence or accommodation and isolate for 14 days or until their departure on another flight that leaves Australia, consistent with the current rules for unvaccinated flight crew;

• Anyone who has already arrived in NSW who has been in any of the nine African countries within the previous 14 days must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, and call NSW Health on 1800 943 553;

• All unvaccinated travellers from any overseas country will continue to enter hotel quarantine.

Public health advice on quarantine arrangements and isolation requirements will be provided as soon as new information emerges on the risk posed by the new variant and the extent of its international transmission.

Information and Updated Notice Regarding Repatriation Flights to Nepal

•As part of the repatriation process of Nepali nationals stranded in Australia and New Zealand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first repatriation flight of Nepal Airlines chartered by the Embassy of Nepal, Canberra will depart at 1.00 pm on 23 June 2020 from Sydney (22 JUN RA-4133 KTM-SYD 1900/1100+1 23 JUN RA-4134 SYD-KUL 1300/1925, KUL-KTM 2025/2240)

•Passengers with most compelling and compassionate ground are shortlisted for this flight, and all the shortlisted passengers (those who have received Embassy’s final confirmation email) are requested to purchase tickets asap by contacting the following agency authorised by the Nepal Airlines.

•The airfare for this flight is USD 1615 including all taxes. Payment can be made via money transfers or any remittance companies or can be paid directly to the agent’s office in Kathmandu.

•If the shortlisted passengers fail to purchase tickets by tomorrow, 18 June 2020, their seats will be allotted to the passengers in the wait list. If you prefer to travel from Melbourne on second flight, do not purchase tickets rather notify us asap.

•All passenger must submit the PCR test-Negative report while check-in at the airport in Sydney and upon arrival at TIA in Kathmandu.

•Also fill up the self-declaration form (विदेशबाट नेपाल फर्कने व्यक्तिले भर्नुपर्ने फाराम http://ccmc.gov.np/doc_upload/nepal_return_form.pdf) and bring two sets of the duly filled-in form along with you to submit at the airport in Kathmandu.

•All passengers entering Nepal should follow Nepal Government’s health protocol and stay in 14 days mandatory quarantine and bear all the costs of travel and accommodation.

•The Embassy has already sent an email to all the remaining Nepalis, who have submitted the Travel to Nepal form, to confirm their seats on the second flight, which will depart from Melbourne on 27 June 2020.

१. नेपाल प्रवेश गर्ने प्रत्येक व्यक्तिले अनिवार्य रूपमा १४ (चौध) दिनसम्म स्थानीय तहको क्वारेन्टिन वा स्थानीय प्रशासनले व्यवस्था गरेको होटल क्वारेन्टिनमा बस्नु पर्नेछ । तत्पश्चात् स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसङ्ख्या मन्त्रालयले तोकेबमोजिम स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण भएपछि थप ७ दिन अनिवार्य होम क्वारेन्टिनमा समेत बस्नु पर्नेछ ।

२. हवाई उडान खर्च, होटल क्वारेन्टिन खर्च, विमानस्थलदेखि क्वारेन्टिनस्थलसम्मको यातायात खर्चलगायतका सम्पूर्ण खर्च व्यक्ति स्वयंले ब्यहोर्नु पर्नेछ । त्यसरी लाग्ने खर्चको विवरण पछि उपलब्ध गराइने छ ।

३. स्वदेश फर्कने व्यक्तिले हवाई उडान गर्नुअगाडि कोभिड-१९ सङ्क्रमण नभएको स्वास्थ्य परिक्षण (पि.सी.आर.) रिपोर्ट दूतावासमा पेश गर्नुका साथै आफ्नो साथमा पनि राख्नु पर्नेछ ।

४. विदेशबाट जाने प्रत्येक यात्रुले त्रिभुवन अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थलको आगमन कक्षमा स्वास्थ्य स्वघोषणा फाराम भर्नु पर्नेछ र निजको ज्वरो मापन गरी १००.४ F (एकसय दशमलव चार डिग्री फरेनहाइट) भन्दा बढी ज्वरो आएकालाई सोझै आइसोलेसन कक्षमा र अन्यलाई होल्डिङ सेन्टरमा लगिने छ ।

५. नेपाल भित्रिएका प्रत्येक व्यक्तिले आफ्नो मोबाइलमा स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसङ्ख्या मन्त्रालयको “हाम्रो स्वास्थ्य एप” डाउनलोड गरी क्वारेन्टिनमा रहँदाको अवधिको नियमितरूपमा स्वास्थ्य विवरण अध्यावधिक गर्नु पर्नेछ।

६. विमानस्थलमा पुगेपश्चात् प्रत्येक यात्रुलाई काडमाडौं चक्रपथ आसपासमा रहेका होल्डिङ सेन्टरमा लगी आवश्यक प्रक्रिया पूरा भएपछि मात्र सम्बन्धित जिल्लामा रहेका क्वारेन्टिनस्थलमा ट्रान्स्फर गरिने छ ।

७. नेपाल जाने प्रत्येक व्यक्तिले तोकिएको स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षासम्बन्धी मापदण्ड पालना गर्नु पर्नेछ ।

The Australian Embassy appreciates that Australian trekkers arriving in Kathmandu after two or more weeks on the trail are returning to a very different international and travel context. Such is the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
