There is something magical about Mt Yotei, it’s powerful presence overlooks the region. And when it pops out from behind the clouds you can’t help but feel in awe.
🎥 @boenferguson sure knows how to capture that feeling

After a month of relentless snowfalls we finally had a couple of down days here in Niseko. But never fear the next storm is here! If you aren’t already, follow @imlukesnow for detailed forecasts, and keep your finger on the pulse! #japan #niseko #deeppowdertours #snowfall #hokkaido #powdersnow #winter #storm
It was a December to remember in Japan as a seemingly endless parade of storms delivered abundant snowfall across both islands all month. We’re not far into January and another major storm is battering this region. Follow @imlukesnow for the most accurate pow predictions across the world!
Two Siberian cold fronts will produce another lengthy period of sea effect snow in Japan this week, with the bullseye on Honshu in Niigata, Ishikawa, and Toyoma, with Nagano not far behind. The first round of snow is already underway wjile the second Siberian cold front on Thursday will keep heavy snow going through Saturday.
The @hakuba resorts will do well with this cycle, and the @nisekojapan resorts in Hokkaido will see decent accumulations as well.
A warmer system moving in from the southwest will bring another round of heavy snow as it tracks east of Japan. Unlike the sea effect storms we’ve been seeing for several weeks, this storm will bring the heaviest snow to the eastern side of country and feature a warmer air mass overall.
We should get back to the regularly scheduled programming with more sea effect snow mid-month with the next Siberian cold front crossing the Sea of Japan. A drier period is possible for the third week of January but it’s a bit too early to lock that one in just yet.
The heavens opened again overnight in Niseko with over 30cm falling in the last 48hrs. There is no better time than now ❄️❄️
